A motorcycle blogger recently characterized my riding style as being like a curious toddler. I have to admit that she hit it pretty much dead on. But I began to think about other riders I know and what there styles are. A pretty wide range of possibilities.

Took a long ride this past Saturday to test the toddler notion and posted about it on my blog as RIDING AND THE CURIOUS TODDLER.

    Time to make some T-shirts.

It was a great day for a ride and the Vespa GTS performed well. The picture was made during the unpaved road part of the ride...

They just call me that crazy scooter guy. But now I'm thinking, I'm going to call you that crazy scooter guy....:lol3

I like riding in the weather, when people say, you shouldn't be going out in that. Get out there and battle mother nature, you against the wind with your little scooter. And people are like, that guy is f'in crazy! They can see it blowing you all over the road.

One good thing about riding in the rain, you never see any Harleys, unless the guy is going to work or something. Good for people who don't ride in the rain, good.

I like screaming into corner, and then while your laying it over real hard, you think, I wonder if I'm going too fast. I wonder if this the day I fuck up totally. No, I am not going out like that. I'm going to go down trying, even if I do wipe out.

I was talking to this Harley guy and he says 'I don't ride my 250 any more. It temps you to do things you shouldn't ought to be doing anyway.' But that's why I ride the scooter, I like to be a little naughty. But not in neighborhoods, around old ladies and little dogs. Then I play it cool..

Riding on the road I've been described variously as an "old Granny", silly old fart, or my favourite, "restrained"!

On the drags track, I was once described as "commited".......

Not sure if that is for my control, or the apparent lack of it! :rofl

    Great photo! Love your stuff.

I'm a pretty calm rider. Love to be on a scoot, going 40 or so and looking at the scenery.

Sometimes I ride the Helix like I ride my Ducati, sometimes I ride the Ducati like I ride my Helix. Distinctions between riding styles/machines seems to blur......

    I've been described as Colorful.

Can't quite figure out why. Just because I like to ride my scooters full out and rip around on my dirt bike. Just because I'm almost 58 years old and act more like I'm 28, no reason to call me colorful. Guess I could be called worse and probably have been on occasions by some. So I guess I can live with colorful.

Lately I would call my riding style "dances with mirrors". Lots of splitting in traffic during my commutes.

It's great fun and loads better than the truck.. like today.

Leisurely. Like the twisties, but primary purpose is to go out and see the world, not to get from Point A to Point B in the shortest time...it ain't a race.

I'd say pretty normal most of the time, but for me it does depend on what I'm on.

Most of my riding is cruising on cruisers.

On scooters, I tend to ride pretty normal, lane split here in there, just cruise the backroads and enjoy the twisties.

But sometimes, I just ride like a maniac on that scoot! Go WOT in through and fly around corners, gotta admit its lots of fun!

Someone commented on a blog post I made about a building that was being rehabbed, "Have you ever considered being a building inspector, or detective? You notice so many things." ( http://crcleblue.blogspot.com/2010/12/nice-leisurely-urban-ride.html )

I like riding the same routes and seeing what I've not noticed before, or what has changed. Since I ride in lots of different kinds of weather, I enjoy the way different conditions change my perceptions.

Yes, I'm a noticing kind of rider.

My father told me I would hotrod a lawn mower! I have had to teach my self that some control and that speed limits are more than a suggestion as to the minimum speed.

Just to add to that, I found myself often doing roads going the same direction, then discovered how different they seemed going the opposite way. Simple, but fun observation.
