If you live in the Denver area you may have seen these 2 rigs running around. They are from France and are here to

take on Pikes Peak. It will be interesting to see how they make out against the racing rigs.

Excellent Roger!!! Only wish we could be there. You need to enter that Pikes Peak thing :D. We had Dave H's ZX14 HP rig here at the shop after Bloomsburg....wonder if we could borrow it back? LOL

Posted the question, then decided to have a look myself.

Bruno, the French "green" guy is a member here on ADV, and started a Pikes Peak thread in the racing section here:

Since the whole road is paved now (it was almost all dirt back when I was racing it), I expect a new sidecar record will be set again.

    Hi Roger :wave

Looks like you won't be on any SMCC rides in the near future now you've moved a bit cloer to heaven.

I remember rides down to the Adirondacks and Vermont when you had that crazy yellow Commanchee. Amazing how that handled the twisties.

I've been snooping around here and finally after all these years bought a Dnepr that I'm going clean up and install on the GS. Like to head back to the Trans Lab and Trans Taiga with a sidecar rig.

    Hi Dan
Sounds like a good plan to me. If you do the Cabot Trail stop by.

The yellow rig, Christophe Lebert, riding a Yamaha FJ1100 finished 3rd in the sidecar class in: 12:15.250

The green rig, Bruno Marlin, riding a Benelli finished 4th in the sidecar class in:12:22.286

These fully street legal HPS rigs beat out 2 full racing rigs :clap:clap

I think the dirt days were something special, what are people's thoughts on the paving?

I met Silvie and Christoph -or, as they introduced themselves to me - Gazelle and Bbr at Goosenecks of the San Juan Park in SE Utah on July 4th. Great people. Unfortunately they had already shipped their rig back to France.

They were touring the Southwest with some freinds on their way next to Monument Valley and Grand Canyon.

Thanks Roger, it was actually on the map for this year. My GF's family in NS is having a big reunion so the plan was to drop her off and head over to to a buddy's near Guysborough / Canso and do some riding. Plans seem to be taking a sharp left though so I'm not sure what I'm doing.

I was there in 2011 (the dirt was down to 3+ miles). The dirt was awesome. I didnt mind the partial pavement. I think a 50/50 pavement/dirt would have been cool.
    But Im dirtbike guy...

only because John Woods lost traction in turn 2 and slid off backwards. :huh

If they standardize the sidecar classes, the road race rigs have a significant advantage. As it is now, there is no motor size limit. I'm thinking a 'busa powered, stretched F2 is the best rig - with Scott Whitney driving - that would scare the crap out of me!
