Or maybe it's just a self centered Dr. that wants to
see if someone is talking about " * "
I know the weather sucks, but in case someone wants to ride their bike instead of their computer in the next 24 hours, here's a substitute tag shot if the castle location is too close to the cliff, or the path too muddy:
Don't think you can get your GS through the mud to the castle?
Well, I certainly wouldn't go there if the trooper is parked on the two-track eating donuts! But remember, I gave you a back up plan. And the sign just tells you to be careful near the cliffs. Does not say that motor vehicles are forbidden. In fact, the car proves that, right?
Still, the castle is pretty cool. Would be worth even walking down the path 100 yards to see it!
Five-O is probably just there to take a property damage damage report- fresh motorcycle tracks in the mud!
I figured I'd get the tag since it was on my way home:
A short hike off Route 9W is the Federation Castle. It is located at The Federation Memorial Park in Alpine, N.J. near the New York boarder atop the majestic Palisades Cliffs. Accessible from Route 9W, by way of a foot bridge over the Palisades Interstate Parkway and follow the path for 3 tenths of a mile.
That's it! Just a few hundred yards South of the State Line Lookout! Nice job, John!
Here's the new tag, it's located just North of the previous tag in a hamlet. Another clue:
Mollie _____ and most of her sons were Tories, but her son John was a loyalist. He was allowed to keep the family ferry operating across the Hudson River to Dobbs Ferry during the Revolution. An action by Mollie _____ during this period illustrates the close interaction of British and patriots in this vicinity.
Nice cold nighttime get, Ken!
That"s it!!! Hope it wasn't too windy on the bridge last night.
I went for a test ride and it seemed calm enough to make the crossing. The snow squall had me a lil worried:eek1
While we wait for the new tag, I couldn't resist a Bruce of this great tag
Later this afternoon. The place I wanted to tag I couldnt do with a night shot, I have a picture from the day before but it would technically be a file photo so i didn't put it up.
You could have used a night shot to place the tag, and the file photo to clarify the location.
I would have but i forgot I took the pic the day before and planned on posting it when I got back.So I was already home and geared down when I realized my folly. having missed the first showing of gold rush there was no way I was going to miss the 2nd
If anyones dying to get it. ridgecrest road, Briarcliff Manor, NY. I'll swap in todays pic later. be careful there may be an icy spot or 2 on the road if the water is still running off the hill
