    Interesting... I didn't get one of these "mask" with my Nomad kit, didn't even see if offered on the website. So, I don't have one on my fairing, I wear a Shoei GT Air (street helmet), and I fucking love the thing. I a squat 5'10, and if I bomb a little freeway miles to connect to my trails, 90 mph is no problem and zero buffeting to speak of! And I know buffeting, I've had V-Stroms and Teneres and those will educe headaches and neck strain like a German dominatrix. I am sorry your are going through this, I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said, but yea, get rid of that mask and get some air flow in there, maybe even get a 1" hole saw and create an additional vent, you won't get the dead air wobbles so long as you have a small about of air moving about the cabin.     That filter is a great! Way more robust than that stupid paper filter. This should be the stock filter.

    Fitted my Nomad tower yesterday. Bought thru CJ Designs. I need a brake line guide from a dirt bike to attach to the high fender, and it'll be complete. I found it easier than expected to put together - but not because the instructions were good, because they're not.

    A quick test ride last night on the highway was positive. It gets some air off the body, but it's no Goldwing. I did not have any significant turbulence or loud noise at my helmet as Tokig has reported. It's there, but not bad enough to bother. The lights didn't impress me as much as I expected. I was surprised that the low beam stays on when the high beam comes on. The poor excuse for instructions suggested they would not, so that was a nice surprise. All in all very positive and happy with the product.

    I used ACC2 (switched) for my USB, cigarette socket, and volt meter. I plan to use ACC1 (non-switched) for my heat demons install, and add a bright dummy light in case I forget to turn them off.

    I used a $20 step drill from harbor freight to drill holes for accessories. Don't be duped into buying a $75 step drill at a hardware store.

    I'm a little concerned about water getting to the wiring harness so easily.

    I would love to move the ignition up onto the tower somewhere... that could be my next big project.

    Hi TwoWheelLife,

    I’m Mike from Nomad-ADV, I noticed that your lights are sticking out a lot due to the angle they are mounted on. If you turn the aluminium bar so that the flat side is pointing up (there are 2 different depths of flat surfaces on the spacer). Then put the light bracket in it’s lowest position, this will make the lights sit further back and thus not stick out from the fairing. I also noticed that you put 2 spacers on the bottom of the tower and not one under the dash.

    I don’t mean to criticise but it’s just something I noticed by looking at your photos.

    Did you get our 14 page instruction manual in colour with all the photos from CJ?

    Hey Mike, is there supposed to be a spacer under the dash? In your instructions all photos show two spacers at bottom of tower and none under the dash but I noticed on your website some of the pictures show one spacer under the dash and one at bottom of the tower.. What's the correct placement?

    Hi Itchie,

    Thanks for bringing that to my attention! I made a mistake, there is indeed no spacer under the dash anymore. We moved the spacer to the bottom of the tower to fit the PE Plate which diverts rain water away from the wiring.

    Hi Mike, thanks for the headlight tip. The spacers are oriented the correct way but I did not lower the lights on their mounts. That will help..

    Thanks for clarifying with Itchie, I was confused as yes I got the printouts and this is what I followed. I believe you made a note that you also moved that spacer when you moved the switches up to allow for gloves.

    I was about to send this photo asking if those spots are what you were referring to.

    Great product, Mike, but yeah you could stand to take another stab at the instructions. Or organize them a bit.

    Anyone compared the weight of the Nomad tower vs all of the OEM stuff you take off - are we adding or removing weight by installing the Nomad tower?

    It is definitely an add. The tower itself isn't too heavy. The lights are very heavy. I would consider shopping around on the lights if I were to do it again. I read somewhere the Nomad is overall 10lb with lights and you don't take much weight off.. a couple pieces of light plastic. The stock headlamp weighs very little.

    I sat on the enduro, holy crap it's tall ! Dual sport tires will be ordered this next week, most likely TKC's or Shinkos. Looking for a mix of street & trail fun.

    I believe this was the last new 2017 SM in Texas.

    Had the same issues with my tower and my Arai helmet. My fix was twofold. I added an Touratech windscreen extension off my 990 and switched to a Klim helmet which has better venting of the visor. I am now happy with the tower.
