HyperPro doesn't make a steering damper [dampener, dampner, stabilizer] for the 1150GS. In fact, the only 1150GS damper I can find is the one by Ralle-Moto which costs around $900USD at today's exchange rates. Too spendy for me! Here's what I want to know--is there any reason I couldn't buy the HyperPro damper (with mounts) designed for the 1200GS and install it on my 1150GS? Total cost would be around $450. [Edit: Feb 15 2011--go to post 22 to see my reply to this question.] Here's are pics of the 1200GS damper as installed by another inmate-- HyperPro sells fork clamps of all different sizes so I won't have a problem connecting the damper arm to the fork. That's a ball-and-socket "helm" joint there at the end of the arm. For the telelever, the HyperPro mount clamps to the body (tube) of the damper then the mount is bolted to the telelever. Seems to me that I could simply drill a hole through my 1150 telelever and through-bolt it on. The only tricky part would be deciding where exactly to drill. Why is this a bad idea?
