I ain't complain'n
The snow is coming
That site cracks me up. It's the most optimistic "weather" site there is for skiers and snowmobilers, telling everyone what they want to hear. It's the Fox news of weather.
Rain here in Crestone this morning! I've never seen that in January before.
Down pour in Baggs right now. Looks like the web cam is showing snow on Rabbit Ears.

Its main focus is to let you know where the best potential powder day dumps will be.
Many with the financial means travel daily to where the deepest pow will be. No different than surfers following the best swell and waves on a day to day basis. Those who don't search out the deep fresh don't get it.
Some may not believe it but the Earth is getting warmer.
Nothing new about that, as our sun circles the Black Hole of our Galaxy every ~ 24,000 years or so, we have Ice Ages etc...get used to it
But what if we're warming up to the proper temperature for the earth?
Then some people with beach front property picked the wrong time to build and are f'd.
But what if the earth swaps poles, or changes it's axis.....again?
No point in worrying about what we can't control. Might as well get out and enjoy it, whatever "it" may be.
Or some people with desert properties who might get more precipitation picked well and will be better off? You know, after some of the glaciers melt and make more liquid water available for weather systems.
Is change inherently bad? Change is neither all bad nor all good. Do you feel qualified to choose the winners and losers irrespective of whatever the change might be? Evolution has always selected those who adapt the best.
My first career was as an exploration geologist specializing in the effect of paleo-climates on mineral depositional environments in ancient fluvial systems. I have a somewhat educated view on the subject so platitudes or anecdotes don't convince me of anything.
Worldwide climate has had many, many variations over time. Are you saying that the climate we have had in the last century or so is the right one or the best one? That would be a bold position to take and difficult to defend.
I just said "the Earth is getting warmer".
And some might not believe it.
It's something that NASA and NOAA have shown to be occuring, along with receding ice levels.
You can then have any interpretation or discourse you want, but I just stated what is happening...a per-reviewed & proven fact.
Yes it's happened before and it is happening again. Why, is up for debate for some, but it's happening none the less.
Didn't know you were an exploration geologist. I was an exploration geophysicist for minerals, hydrocarbon, and geothermal. Where was your research focused? I later did mainly earthquake research.
