I'm looking for any recent ride reports for Venezuela. After crossing the gap I need to get to Recife Brazil but it looks like avoiding Venezuela is going to be a bitch. Looking for suggestions on how to get my KLR over there without having to go the long way (through peru, bolivia, etc). Thanks

Yep it's not good for sure. Perhaps there's a ferry or boat that I can take to skip over Venezuela. Having to go as south as Bolivia to get to NE Brazil seems a little ridiculous though.

You cannot enter Venezuela from Colombia with your motorcycle. I was turned away at the border, they are only allowing people to cross not vehicles. Very unfortunate, they keep saying it will be fixed soon but that was months ago.

I'm in Colombia, and I know we cannot enter Venzuela. The last time I was there, the travelers are not bothered much, no problem to get food if you have money. The crisis there is the population that needs governemental health to buy its food has no money. The monthly minimum wage is $15. a month. Maduro doesn't want to see the travelers spread the news

Nop, so far there is no way to cross the border from or to Colombia. That is at least from the main cities of Cucuta - San Antonio. Same thing in the norther border of Maicao. But I think is still possible through the south border of El Amparo, I'll have to ask a little further. I know that the border to Brazil is still open (Santa Elena - La linea) but of course the matter is how entering the bike to Venezuela in first place. I have to find out about the border in Amazonas state (Puerto Ayacucho) and Colombia (Puerto carreƱo) crossing the Orinoco river in a small ferry (chalana) or a boat (voladora).
