Hey guys, listen, I just loaded mapsource onto my laptop and I have a Zumo550 and a 60CSx. Looking at some of these threads I tried to copy some of the .gpx files over to mapsource and I can't do it and view the files. What am I doing wrong?

Try converting them to .gdb with GPSBabel and then open your .gdb file with your mapsource.

Mapsource will open GPX files. Keep in mind, however, that they are considerably larger than the GDB files that are native to the Mapsource software.

You are probably having trouble getting th efiles at all because of the ADVrider server problems...

You don't "copy to" Mapsource you just "open" a .gpx file with Mapsource then save at .gdp to same space.

Okay, I'm here again. I tried opening the files and nothing happens, I just end up with a blank screen. Had Garmin Tech support remotly take control of my pc and do what I did. The problem apparently lies with ADVrider not allowing us to copy .gpx files which are attached to threads here. I've tried shortcutting them to my desktop, everything. It can't be done. Iread in one of these threads that advrider had a program/site we can use to view these files. I'm looking for it again.

To test your system try opening a .gpx file form GPSXchange.com.

You must go to "Private Libraries" down in the middle of the page to open a file without first posting a file.

Don't send them as shortcuts to your desktop.Just copy and save them wherever you want.
