...in other words, I quit. No more auto sales for me. Nope. Done. Love Audis, love VWs, used to love Porsches, but they are plastic fantastic now. No love for Porsches.

Now I have time to work on my bikes. The Airhead Gathering of the Clans 20th is this coming weekend. With luck, Das Beast will make her debut.

Back to sorting out petcocks and cleaning old aluminum tank...

    Happily free.

Congrats, I guess. Any plan on how to make ends meet? :freaky

I put up with the ups-and-downs of career 'til I was able to graduate from work 5-6 years ago.

I have a "conditional" hire at the local hospital for IT support. Post reference check and whizzing.

No worries with either, and it's 36 hours a week and 4 times what I was making.

So yes, the oars are near the water. I am just reeling in the ease now :freaky

Same place it has been for 20 years. Formerly "Turkey Toms", now Bubba Brent's in Fergueson, NC (near Boone, but better)

Here's a link. Be there or be square

Keep in mind, there is no gas for 12 miles, the road is twisty, and the food is good.

It is the first time I have been without work since 15.

Oh, when I was working in Antarctica, I had 4-6 months off, but I knew I was going back.

Now I am waiting for HR in the hospital to do their thing.

Time to reel in the ease a bit, work on la motos and just get stuff done. Finished cleaning up the old Vermont Casting wood stove today. Ready for fire up in the fall now. I'll mow the grass tomorrow, ride to Greer, SC tomorrow to fix my sister's Mac. I can do it in 2 minutes, but it would take her hours.

Good. Sometimes if one get fed up, things can get a little freaky.

Enjoy life. Get those little prioritized things done.

I've been planning to do a Gathering of the Clans for decades now. Someday soon.

Family's family, but charge her. Or at least get lunch... :cob

Not that visiting your sister is a bad thing, why don't you just use a VNC viewer to fix her issue? Or will it not power up at all?

Wow... bad news with the GS... that blows.

As for my sister, she is my only living relative and all the kids are home. Kids... 6'7, 6'5 and 5'11 niece. Monster big children. Two good yellow labs for my mutt, Elroy, to play with too.

I gave them my iMac intel dual core 2.0 after work said it was "un-secure". As compared to a Windoze box?! Yeah, I could VNC into it, but it's more fun to sit down, fix it, and watch the menagerie unfold.

Just like The Gathering of the Clans. Kinda ;)

I got Matt the job in Antarctica. We worked together at Palmer Station, then Pole later. Talk about animal behavior...

liberating yourself from a shitty job is AWESOME.

i did it in the beginning of 2011. gave up everything i owned for the most part, and worked on getting life back to simple. the right job found me, and i couldnt be happier.

Jeez, I thought something terrible happened like your airhead quit. In San Francisco the joke was:

    What does BMW stand for?

    Bart (train)
    Muni (bus)
    Walk (walk)

But you just quit your job. Feh.That happens all the time. It's the battery.

Would Palmer Station, be where the power plant is located? My wife's mom, has a cousin who worked and still works there....I do not recall his name.....He is stocky, about mid 60's and somewhat cranky.....dark hair.....NOT married.
He was on break, last year and we met him here in The Witch City.....(Salem)......I know that he has been there for years.
I will try to get his name......Nice guy....VERY opinionated and somewhat cranky.
My wife is from, Aiken.......She wants to return to the Carolinas.....I will be trying to get a transfer sometime in the next year or so.
My /5 would LOVE to hit the Gathering of the Clans.....ME TOO.
    Good luck with Das Beast.

    RIDE FAST AND SAFE!
