I'm pretty sure the Montana is the right fit for me but need to know for on and off road riding what else I need to buy besides the actual unit as far as road maps or what ever and how much $ am I gonna have tied up in it ready to go. I'm pretty techno useless so any help would be great. I want to be able to lay down track as well as use other people's rides and such. I'll be using it on a Vstrom and a KLR

You need the offroad rugged mount, arm and ball and you need whatever maps you want, city nav for roads.

I don't know if you follow Dr. Rock or Colebatch journeys, But, to say the least, they put them Colorado's through the mill.
