I got the information from Harley forums (research) They did change the design, but it is still plastic, and still tends to break and/or wear down.

Then lets not forget the primary chain tensioner too, I opened up my primary at 57k miles and the compensator sure was shot but the primary tensioner had no real wear. Plastic will break, metal items do too. The problems that are talked about with routinely checking or replacing (gear driven) are prior to 07. As there been failures with later models I'm sure there as but as far as I know and not speculation the later models are not having problems. Correct me if I'm wrong and just because it's made of plastic wont work for me.

You will likely find that the bars off of a Heritage Softail will be perfect.

The Cable operated Ride Back rest is a MUST IMO $410 installed +/-

JerryH, I've been trying to like you, but you're starting to make it hard.

The cam chain tensioner was redesigned in 07 with a hydraulic unit that basically fixed all the problems. It works very well, does not have a known maximum useful life, and can be retrofitted on pre 07 twin cams. This factory unit works so well there is little to no benefit to expensive aftermarket options like gear drives.

The OP bought a 09, he has no reason to worry about cam chain tensioners, and you did him a dis-service.

Boys, boys, boys. Haven't ya'll figured JerryH out yet? He trolls all these threads, purposely saying silly things to catch a response. Been doing it for a long time, too. Yet he continues to catch fish.

He has good bait: mixing in just enough zingers in paragraphs which have a lot of true statements. Great trolling strategy. :nod

Ya'll use the ignore button, ok?

So, it's a ruse just to get people to tell him that he's a dumbass. Odd behavior to say the least. :1drink

Ride it like it is. If the seats not perfect buy a Alaska Sheepskin from Alaska Sheepskin Company. Don't try to change an already great bike. Just ride it.

    :dunno

He's been doing that in every HD thread here for awhile. Always posts some silly nonsense that riles up those unaware, and derails the thread pretty good.

The Ignore button is a good thing.

Grats on the new bike! Ride it a bit then adjust it. Mustang seats rock and bars are all over the place for HDs.
