    hey guys

I am going to exploring Idaho & western Montana in August Can you post up your tracks for both

For Idaho I am looking to start Northeast of Boise the area between Hwy 55 & 75 northbound from Boise.

However I really want to travel entire area of the state thats forested so the more tracks the better.

In Montana Starting at Barrets Everywhere between I15 and The Idaho border up to Canada

Also would be interesting in exploring the area north of Yellowstone to Bozeman if there are any trails

thank you for the tracks @wbbnm and that was a great ride report

Did you explore any of the offshoot trails?

Who else has Idaho and MT tracks? It would be great to get as many as possible to give me a lot of options

We did a little exploring on the leg to Elk City and even found a short nice section of single track.

You might check into the Tour of Idaho. I believe it is a pretty challenging ride with quite a bit of single track. But that's all I know.

You'll want to check your route choices with the Forest Service. Excess snow melt has washed out a lot of roads. Featherville to Ketchum road over Dollarhide is one example of a great route that is closed and unlikely to open again this season.

As for routes, pick any FS or BLM road that connects to another and go for it. Hard to make a bad choice. You should also check on Fire conditions before you go. Fire season normally starts in July and runs into Sept. Smoke can drift for hundreds of miles so plan to stay up wind if possible. Macgruder corridor and the Lolo highway are two popular routes in ID/MT. Route 12 (lolo), route 75 (sawtooths), route 93 (Arco up to Missoula), route 55 (along the Payette) are really nice rides if you prefer pavement and big views.

Check the threads for the Best Of Montana rides and the separate blog that has the old GPX files, including some Idaho routes.

I have files titled SMTS (Statewide Motorized Trail System) for both states.

They along with thousands of miles of other Tracks can be found on http://www.gpsxchange.com/ in Private Libraries half way down home page.
