We had a complete tire failure yesterday and am having a hard time looking for a tire for my 950 adventure here. We were able to get one out of a trash pile at a shop but by no means does it look like it would make it 140 miles to the boarder, not to mention the tube we got is in worse shape. Does anyone have any experiance of this matter near here.
    Thanks

Depending upon your time frame and patience, you have options

You're pretty close to Agua Prieta, Las Palomas etc., so

You can pay someone to truck it to the border. If your was almost trip is over anyways...

Take a bus to Chihuahua & come back with a tire. Practice your harmonica sync with accordians.

Have a riding buddy go retrieve a tire while you sit back and drink beer

Contact Tury in Chihuahua and see if he has a friend who will send a tire up your way (this may be your best bet). You get your tire and you get to meet Tury.

Trade the 950 for a horse, a rifle, and a hat

I like the Tury Idea or the "Friend rides to Border to get Tire Idea." Or you could just have one shipped to you from Guadalajara/D.F./Monterrey. Patience weed hopper.

Thanks for responding, I like the Turry idea as well.
I was able to track down the owner of a moto and bicycle shop here in town. After he gets out of church we should be able to get a tire from him. So all should be well if not today, tomorrow will work.

Remember, "It's when things go awry that the adventure begins"

THIS is when you takes lots of pics.

Lots of people worry about what would happen if they get into a jam.

Your experience will be the basis for the story you'll be telling years from now, and interesting reading in the meantime.

Back to the rim lock. I'm no expert, but it sound like it was never tightened.

After HE gets out of church? You're the one who should be in there, paying alms to St. Llanta :deal

    That's funny !:rofl

At least Nuevo Casas Grande isn't a bad place to be stuck for a few days.

we were invited into a church during service our first week in Zacatecas, but we had know idea what was being said, so we splashed our faces with holy water and left, there just isn't a tub big enough for people like us.
We made to Tucson on the trash can tire and will try and get a new one in the morning. I don't think it will make it much further.

Thanks for visiting us in Zacatecas SR and RW66. We'll make sure next time to have enough time to hang out with you guys for more than just an hour or 2. Cheryl enjoyed both of your guys company. I'm sure it will be sooner than later.
I got a tire in Tucson and made it the rest of the way home, however that tire did start to chunk, I'll see if the cyclegear here in town will take it back, but all is well and had a great time in Zac but even more fun when the tire troubles started. Seriously
