in search of Malaysia and Thailand gps mapsets...

    Nope - I used to live in Malaysia and the ones you find on Malsingmaps are by far and away the best. There is no official map of Malaysia by any manufacturer eg TomTom or Garmin. The Malaysian Garmin map is made by hundereds of Malaysian dudes driving around the country and mapping it.

    ...Forget Garmin. Go for Oruxmaps App, and never look back. Here are the open sources maps for Asia countries.

    Unless your priority is to find Starbucks and Bank offices, the openandromaps are really great! For long trip, download your petrol station/poi gpx from google maps and open it on Orux. If you need some satellites perspectives, use the online google imagery (it will remain offline, simply be careful not to clear temporally oruxmap files when cleaning other apps)
