Wow, thread still alive!
Alps can be really exciting, especially on dirt tracks.
Arf, go to Himalaya. It is much cheaper. I hope to be so rich when I will be 70 to spend a month riding in Alps

Just discovered this, will read the Afghanistan report. Also looked at your website. So sorry for the death of your friend and partner--that was a wonderful tribute video. Good luck with your next tour, and thank you for taking the time to make these inspiring reports.
fantastyczna wycieczka! dopiero znalazlem, i tez tam jade za trzy tygodnie...
Absolutely awesome stuff. It's ride reports like this that make ADV the best bike site in the world.
I went to the himalayas again this year ,we rode from Shimla to Leh then back to Manali. Over the Rhotang twice and up to the Highest pass in the World. I've been 6 times before but this was the first time I had gone past Baralacha La . It is like another world .The More plains are amazing and Leh is beautiful. It Blew me away. Anyone thinking of going Just Do it ,its a trip of a lifetime and pretty challenging with the Altitude .Sleeping at Sarchu is almost impossible because its at 4500m . Loved it!!. Thanks again for posting ,I know its a while now
Wy zdecydowanie jesteście hardkorami, z tym Waszym zamiłowaniem do Azji.
Part of me wants the moderators to take this RR down. I have read this report about 5 times now and once you start looking, you can't stop. I swear the further into the trip you go, the more Africa Twins there seem to be! It starts off with like 3 ATs and the Beemer and by the time you get half way through there seems to be about 40-50 ATs and a Beemer.
My favorite quote from the RR:
Thank you for sharing, I just wish one day I will have the chance to see these beautiful places also. Great ride report!!!
First post in this thread this year !
I just want to say that I am deeply moved by the pictures that was really beautiful. I am planing a trip atm where we would go from Sweden down to India through the -stan countries. I dont know when it will take place but hopefully in the near future. I was wondering if any of you guys have any tip how to circumpass Afganistan and the northwestern Kashmir? Im thinking China - however, that is probably quite problematic... Any ideas???
Thanks for a wonderful report and stunning pictures...
