Last year we were able to ride Pole Creek outside Silverton in the last week of October. I would love to be able to do that again!

My wife's sister has a condo on Maui, in about a week we leave for ten days on the island.

Hopefully you guys will have this all sorted out by the time we get back so I can get some riding in.

HA! I do. Got the scratch and brown coat on the gable ends, color coat Monday. Gutters should be today, overhead doors scheduled for Wednesday. After all that it is weather tight and secure. I can leave knowing it is going to be OK until I get back. I'll post a couple photos when all that is done.

I need input-fast. I drove a friend home to Durango this week with plans to go to Lake City tomorrow (9/30) and the ride the Alpine Loop on Sunday. I haven't done it in 10 years. Now, I am old and my skills are not that great. I wanted to repeat the ride, but this weather is making that dream seem out of reach at this moment. I heard a weatherman say there is a lot of snow on Engineer Mountain. I need to be back in Denver on Monday evening. Does anyone know where it's dry in that general direction? I'm looking for something Easy/Moderate with the emphasis on easy. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Sorry for the late response. It's wet everywhere over this way. And snow up higher. You might want to check bushducks.com

I'm not sure how accurate this webpage is https://soajeep.com/trail-maps-conditions/trail-conditions/ but it looks like most everything is too sketchy for a motorcycle at the moment especially if you want easy. I know that Black Bear and the top of Imogene are the only two that are officially closed at least according to http://www.sanmiguelcounty.org/406/Road-Conditions and https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/sanjuan/maps-pubs/?cid=fsbdev3_002300 . I do not live in the area though so I can't provide any direct insight.

I might try and ride Weston and/or Hagerman tomorrow and I will report back if I do with how far I got.

Thanks so much for the info. I called around today and was told there was 6 inches of snow on Engineer Pass and the jeep tires were crunching the snow down into ice, so I have to let it go. I will look into these sites. I was also told next weekend should be sunny and alright.

I'm hoping for sunny next weekend, too.
    Glad you opted out.

We rode Westin yesterday morning. It was ok. No snow on the road itself. This morning is different. We have 2” of snow in Fairplay. And the mosquito range has a solid coating of white. We had planned to ride Hancock yesterday but it was snowed in.
