Now you guys made me scared. Planning the RimRocker Trail Oct. 10. I have to get over Monarch the 9th. Again I am doing an Indian Summer dance.

I'll let you know the conditions soon. I plan to truck camp near Uravan Thursday and Friday nights and explore the Rimrocker Friday and Saturday.

Probably obvious, but there's a lot of sand/gravel on Highway 24 between Minturn and Leadville.

Other paved mountain roads are likely similarly coated.

Shelf Rd. to Cripple Creek was a great ride yesterday. Good if not great $1 breakfast at Wildwood. Thanks to Mike B. aka Assfault for meeting us there. We had a good visit over breakfast.

Conditions update: Corkscrew is virtually clear; Hurricane is 100% clear up to the pass sign, but past that there is lots of snow and ice and it is covering the entire road at times. I also heard that the last switchback before California is very snowy too. I decided not to risk it and went back down. Still lots of good riding to be had at least until Monday!

Good to go on Rimrocker. I explored some alternative routes up on the plateau and up to Geyser pass in the LaSalles.
