Hey folks, news flash. My bike turned up in another parking lot of the same apartment complex. Ignition wires all chopped up. Battery dead. Out of gas (they had even used up the reserve, except for the secret KLR reserve). There are a few new scrapes and until it is running and looked at by whoever the insurance company chooses I don't know the extent of any other damage, but my bike is back. Thank you to all who were keeping an eye out for her!

Busted. My son and I were running some of the Loose Nut tracks yesterday. Started in Osgood and ended up in Madison then rode up to Brown Co. We figured wrong that beer would be available in Freetown. Must have past you in the way to Seymour. We doubled back and camped on Tower Hill Rd. Stormed pretty good over night but was nice for riding again this morning.

There is a joke here about KLRs being too terrible to steal... Calling Brewski for the joke layup...

Glad you got your bike back. Sorry it's going to take some work to get it operational again.

Only a meth head would steal a KLR..... No one else would stoop that low.

Btw you can choose who fixes your bike. Not your insurance company. They just pay. It is illegal for them to choose what shop fixes it.

Do those have steering locks? In this situation I wonder if that may have been a deterrent since it seems more of a local opportunist shit stain. Either way 1-2 people and bikes are gone. That is one reason I always try to park up front and be quick if I go to a store. Even locked cars aren't safe and it's getting worse.

The bike does have a steering lock. Two problems there are first that the steering lock on a KLR is easy to just break and that a steering locked bike has no "wiggle" when bumped. My bike had been knocked over 3 times by idiots backing into it in our apartment complex parking lot. So I stopped using the steering lock and it hasn't been over on its side since. For my other bike I now have a brake disc lock with a heavy chain. I hope that will discourage things like this in the future.

If theirs some kind of pole or something near your parking spot you could get a IR trail cam with a lockbox that it fits into and point it at your bike.

Our UP ride got rained out last weekend ... they had about 3 inches of rain and thunderstorms.

The folks going can't make a reschedule so I decided to go this weekend, the 23rd - 26th.

As of now there's a little chance of rain here and there with temps in the low 70s/40s at nite.

With the rain we've had the traction should be excellent off road in the Northern Lower and UP ... we'll ride some great dirt trails!

Still headed to Grand Marais/waterfalls and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore via the scenic West Coast route ... Friday in the Northern Lower, Saturday in the UP and Sunday back in the Northern Lower.

If you're interested in riding along and seeing some of Michigans best post up or pm!

Someone from e-ville gave me there phone # at the ride the other day. They gave me there contact info so we could be in touch with them about future trials events and rides. They were riding a Husaberg 501. If you were that person please send me a message with your whole #. I omitted one of the #'s when I went to put it in my phone. Thanks!

So lift that lifts the table. I'd use some pulleys and a winch hang from ceiling. Than you and lift table up towards ceiling to have more floor space

If I were shopping for one, I'd likely go Harbor Freight w/coupon and add a Titan wheel chock.

Glad to hear you got the bike back. Going to restate what nickgindy said. You can pick who fixes your bike. the insurance company may recommend a "preferred provider". That just means they have a deal worked out with those people to get a better price on repairs. Doesn't mean it will be a sub-par repair but....You should pick who you want to fix it.
