You might want to check the water pump shaft the seal has been known to wear groves in the shaft ,that happened on my 99 & my 2k gas gas .
Check that first BUT they made some soft shafts & the seal would wear IT.

I miss my gasgasses...the 300 pro wasn't bad to kick over, but the 95 350 put hair on your chest...and a crease in your arch, and a bump on your head if you didn't get it over hard enough. Only bike I've ever had that sheared the kickstarter shaft off!

I imagine Jim Snell at Rising Sun Import has the parts for that bike yet TPar. I'd snag a rear fender or 2 while you're at it if they're still available, and get ready to ziptie that one! The other thing you can do that I did is snag some plastic M6 bolts from McMaster that will shear when you do loop it and save the plastic.

My Honda is still for sale..... :deal

Had a great time riding this weekend down at the Dixie Cup at Saddleback. Still a lot to learn, but the sections were great.

for now i won't take anything apart. who knows, maybe someone took it thru deep water and trans got water in it thru a vent? the things aren't very tall so wouldn't take a very deep crossing. i will just get a few more qts of cheap oil and change couple more times and see what it does. not gonna have alot of time to mess with it this month though with muddobbers this coming weekend, buffalo weekend after that and hnf later this month.

You and me both. I've been interested for years and it definitely fits my preferred riding style. I'm really trying/wanting to hold off until I sell the 990, but all this recent trials talk and pictures is making it difficult. I kind of hope I don't see any great deals popping up.

I happen to know the previous owner of that bike... it did have a low coolant issue at one point. I think he topped the coolant off after realizing it was low, but never rode it enough to realize that it was still loosing coolant so never looked for a problem. At least, last I talked to him about it, he thought it was fixed and that it was just low when he bought it. Definitely something worth keeping an eye on, based on that transmission oil.

    Well Hell.
    Where do I start?
Maybe with like-ing the last 30 posts.
Had me one o'-dem 327s and it kicked like a mother, but it was in a big-ass '63 hardtop. Mm-yeah.
Waterpump shafts will fail. When? Ask Rotax. Crocus cloth is your friend. That and the best seals you can lay your mits on.
I'm with Smalls, [Geo., your guys are comin' in hot. +1.] these tractor pix are working on me too!
My sons earned their first real motorcycle, a TL250 about 20 years back. That's the one they learned how to time an upper-end on at Redbird. Fun stuff.

Ok here are a couple of my dog pics :p They are sisters and if you have ridden out here you have most likely been jumped on or licked by em. Tank and Pearl. Mom was a big German Shepard and dad was a yellow Lab.Love the Shepard in em. Have had several Shepard mix dogs. All of em were great. I could talk for hours about these 2. Great dogs! I haven't had the pleasure of meeting them yet, but I can't wait to get up there and ride and meet them (and you). ;)
