Temperature is a bit of a surprise, do you have an oil cooler on it? (didn't notice when I saw it the other day, though props on the oil pressure guage ) & if so, (and thinking about how you not so long ago mentioned a unneeded bendy filter = you not having a cooler) is it direct feed or thermo fed? Re: bendy filter, I guess you don't have a cooler fitted but I can't be arsed to go back & rewrite the preceding text so I'll press on. And anyhoo with that big RS or RT fairing I'd be expecting some temp build up. But then the air you were travelling 200 miles thru/ough was plenty cold I imagine. For those that may not be acquainted DBD is not a seasonal rider, i.e. one that starts around Easter & stops Sept./Oct., & tho/ough I imagine he has Power Rangers suit stashed somewhere, in this case it's not his regular wardrobe. Indeed I might wonder whether it's a bike suit at all, and not just a Power Ranger costume - any guesses on Brown Ranger?
Should I be posting some of this stuff? Most of it doesn't meet my 'Think 3' rule - think it three times & if it still seems reasonable then say it.
I'm not sure of where the popping is rev wise as I've no rev counter, but it's about in the same range as the previously described Left Jug Drop Out*, and was there before, and has not been cured by the recent jiggling. It does seem that the majority of carb problems have indeed turned out to be electrical, and have been sorted (fingers crossed, is there an emoticon for that) for now at least. But the popping may emanate from a fuelling problem, or at slightly more of a stretch valve or ignition timing?
I've a few things to get done before the MOT in April, not least the tax @ the end of March, but the biggest 'intrusion into happy' with the bike is a reluctance to start from cold. The first start of the day is reluctant to catch, and takes a whack out of the battery trying it till it catches. So Hmmmm on that one... There's probably an emoticon for scratching the head, but I can't be bothered to look for it, and even were I to search I doubt I'm focussed enough to spot it any way so here instead are some randoms:
For a while there I though your Ka-Car had got itself a garage, and I was somewhat jealous of it, but then of course I got it. It's moved out & set itself up in a small apartment.

Some of those recent R bikes, especially the ones from Kevils Speed Shop have a slick solo speedo and headlight setup.
Does anyone have a quick US source for parts likes these?
Not me, but I imagine Kevils may perchance let you know what they use? If you find out do post the answer back here. While I generally go without clocks the shallow ones on the red/chrome tanked bike seem pleasant.

Their FAQ says they don't supply parts or give away trade secrets, but they might be kind enough to give a hint about where the clocks are manufactured/sourced & if the supplier is US based or has a US distributor?, or maybe they might not... Without checking your profile I can only guess from your query I imagine that you're US based, so it's not like you'd pose a geographicalistic market crossover threat?
This is of course where the charging circuit failure became prominent as an issue, because the repeated cranking required to get it started sucked the battery down & it very quickly became apparent it wasn't getting filled up again. Again, I hate to tempt fate, which unceasingly has it in for me, so far it's running cleaner & charging still, but electrics has always been my weak point, along with fabrication, mechanicals, settings/calibration, paint/finish, & assembly.
The taking apart part I can do...
Tho/ough I can't say I unreservedly support the policies which underlay the wording of this official MFM form, I'm not on the relevant corporate panels here Martha Farquar Motosickles & so have little or no say, but tho/ough I may quibble with some of the terminology I support the general principle and you get the general idea, no?...

Had this run up as a prototype corporate apparel solution.....it's based on something Bowie wore in the olden days, but I think it really says something important about the 21st century message of the Martha Farquar global brand. Also, I think the pinstripes are really cool.

My hamfisted builds, they don’t last. You see the plan had been to have a K75 + an Airhead and sequentially rebuild/ride them, so that I never had to buy another bike. Those of you acquainted with this bolg will know that this didn’t really work out and so I’m left with a K in bits minus various things, and an Airhead that doesn’t like to start from cold, even with a strong battery after a night of trickle charging. After the first start of the day it catches better, and now the charging circuit is ‘not yet broken again’* it at least recharges once it bites, but it just doesn’t like that first start of the day. Doesn’t really matter what time it is, except that I imagine if it had sat in the sun all day it might be slightly more cooperative late afternoon (tho/ough because most times I’ve needed to start it have been earlier in the morn i.e. 9am), but then if the first start is after any residual-daytime-sun-induced-‘not cold’ sort of heat it also won’t catch, same as 9am. I can’t help but think the issue is related to both electrics & carb, combined. I would illuminate further yet it simply seems most apt just to say piss bollocks piss shit fuck.
* I naturally hesitate to say ‘fixed’
Will not the sidebulge impact on general fueleconomatics pushing the price of a ride beyond reasonable reach. Plus there'll be an impact on lane filtering functionality impeding ones potential progress = slow journeys with high running costs.
