Yep. Hit these barriers last week during our visit and meeting up with Haymaker that day. I could hear banjos playing from that house.

We finished up the Hampster route Sunday afternoon and on our way to the start of the Puppy Dog we tried riding this west from where it intersects the Hampster route on Magalloway Rd in Pittsburgh. We turned left on to rte 145 we ran into a locked gate at the next right turn....found a way around and hit a gate at the other end that wasn't so easy to get around but we improvised.....after that we gave up and headed for the north end of the Puppy dog. Ended up riding the Hampster and Puppy dog in 3 days...1050 miles total.

Looking at doing a four day trip this summer. First stop from home will be Rangely. From there, I have something like this:

    Then from Millinocket to Aristicook:

From there I'll be taking roadways to spend a night in Camden NH before I head home. Big concern are the logging and paper roads. I'm being told don't even bother with the area around Katadhin. Motorcycles are not permitted and I'll be kicked off. Like the area between Morrill ME and just above Williamsburg won't work. How much of a pain in the ass is it really to navigate up there? I've done Campobello before and there were a few roads that had me give in and just take RT1 (boring) back.

Not sure if they'll let you ride a motorcycle through katahdin ironworks from Greenville, Maine. They have gates and fees and are pretty strict about motorcycles, even though you see quads and utvs. Theres atv trails from sebec lake village to Brownville to Millinocket that are worth checking out if you want to stay off pavement on route 11. Also theres a beautiful dirt road that runs up the east shore of schoodic lake that can cut some more pavement miles heading north. I'll be there Wednesday for six days at my grandparents camp on schoodic lake. From Millinocket you can follow Millinocket stream road (another good dirt road) to the monument all dirt and then connect back in Stacyville. Those are just the area's I know well and ride my drz and tiger there regularly.

This is what I was somewhat expecting. Looks like I have no real choice but to go south of that Katadhin Mtn. Range. That's fine I guess.
Aw man, that's perfect! Was planning on stopping at Wilderness Edge campground in Millinocket. +1 internets to you fine sir.
