    Wrestling wasn't the original contest of the Greek Olympics (running was), and other sports have been dropped (pankration, ancient pentathlon, chariot racing, etc), so that's a lousy reason to keep it. Not to mention that the matches could end by submission and things like breaking bones were allowed, so wasn't really the same as today's sport anyway...

    I hope Gable comes up with something better than you. :-)

    Well kids D Day is here. I just got an email from btsny.org and the IOC (means asshats) will decide this Sunday if wrestling remains a 5 ringed sport

    I hope they get this right.

    Wrestling voted back in. Baseball/Softball and squash, second and third although essentially tied with votes.

    I was hoping for squash, once voted as the healthiest sport you can play in terms of the balance of overall cardiovascular and muscular strength required.

    Back in.....but still NOT one of the 25 CORE sports, so still some work to do. Hope new rules will make it easier to understand and more fun to watch by the casual fan. If that happens, then status as a core sport should be no problem.

    Still.......:clap:clap:clap::D:D:D

    Well I'm not happy that they plan to drop some male weights to add female weights. And the period time changes look good.

    I've not seen any other info on other changes, but for freestyle, they need to get rid of the stupid colored ball crap when there is a tie. Keep wrestling to someone scores.

    But very glad it's back

    I'd like to see even fewer weight classes... Light, middle, heavy, and unlimited. :-D
