Every gravel road bridge in NE Iowa looks like that. I'm guessing between Maquoketa and Baldwin on the Maquoketa river.

i agree it's fun to stumble on a gem simply by accident, that said, it's nice to have a heads on decent place to eat. for instance,it would be a shame to eat a crappy bar burger in atkins, when just 6 miles over the signature burger at the whiskey tavern in newhall is absolutely amazing.

I'm just not into the ride to eat rides.
I try not to eat while on rides, good way to get rid of some wieght.
Food is just food I don't want it to get in the way of my riding.

Over the top yea, ego maniac, yea. Not sure on the booze report... have not seen it. 100,000 for an appearance fee... wow.

Met the guy, yea. Seems like a guy who likes food. But guess having a guy who runs restaurants and knows food report on restaurants in Iowa would not be good??

But I guess when we read the internet it makes us perfect?

BTW Pelican and Crane in Leclaire, IA.

Totally ok, the building used to be a mortuary! Food is great and there is a distillery down the road to buy and take home. Lots of history in the town also.

Food is about 10% of why I go on RTE rides. The other 90% of why I go on them is to visit with friends who ride who I don't see very often.

How are the prices at MotoSports? I've never been there. I was in the process of putting my carb back together and found that my throttle cable is shot. I can find an OEM replacement online, but shipping is another $11.

I'll have to give them a call this afternoon. I'm heading to Des Moines this weekend, maybe I'll stop in.

Really good people. They normally will price match if they can. I've gotten to where I generally don't ask for that because I like supporting a local shop of people I can talk to and get experienced advice. They are generally a Ducati and KTM dirt bike shop, but Ron keeps pushing Doug to carry the full KTM lineup.

Ron's a good guy! Doug is the man!

Buy a motorcycle from Doug and get 10% off all parts and stuff after that!!

    Bought two bikes from him!!

I don't buy anywhere other than Motosports!!

He also rebuilt my KTM 640 Adventure motor! Awesome!!

I got my '12 Multistrada from Doug. Ducati Omaha had the exact bike I wanted but I would rather support a local dealer like Doug.
I also like dealers who not only sell but also ride the products that they sell. Doug does track days on an 848 and is a huge supporter of the local off-road scene.

Of course, he still gives me dirty looks when I tell him that the next set of tires I buy for my Multi will be TKC-80s... :D

They have been trying to sell me a multi since they came out.

I have been trying to convince the wife to let me ever since! Ron and I haven't won yet!!

Well, now I feel bad for dropping a ton of money at KTM-parts.com! Should have talked to them first. I'll give em a call over lunch. Tried to this morning, but they weren't open yet.

Good thing they open early on Saturdays. I just hope they have my cable - or can get it by then.

    Thanks guys.

I believe they order on Monday and receive their KTM shipment on Thursday. They have a very small inventory on hand. Good people. Small shop.

Ron and Doug are both great. I got my bike from there as well. I'll continue to buy various stuff from them...even though l do ride a BMW. I need to call and see if they can get me a Heidenau K60 rear.

Scooter, the answer today is no, they can't. Doug says the tire is not available through their normal distributer. Maybe some place like Revzilla??? I wanted a K60 front, but they couldn't get it, so I went for the Pirelli Rally.

Yeah, Rev'zilla has it as well as Bike Bandit and a couple of other online stores. The bike gets serviced on 4/13 at the Cycle Clinic. I'll see what they can do.
