sounds good to me. I ride a 2003 DL1000. That tem. and sun work for me
First of all, Nishna Valley Cycle in Atlantic Iowa is having an open house this Saturday:
Second, Baxter Cycle in Marne Iowa is May 18th 9-5:
I've been to both, and they are both great, but there's just something so cool about Baxter Cycle's open house. It's this tiny place in the middle of nowhere, a town of maybe 120 people that just gets packed with every kind of motorcycle you can imagine, and every type of rider. Last year there was a guy towing a kayak behind a Triumph Scrambler all the way to 1930's and 40's vintage.
The free food is nice also!
Know any great events coming up? Let us all know! Also, let everybody know if you're coming, it would be cool to meet people on here.
(I hope this all posts, this is my first time posting pics)
I won't be able to make the Marne one, but l shouldn't have any problem making the Baxter Cycle Open House.
I'm in the Roland-Story area. Got a new Orange 2012 Wee-Strom in Feb, thinking this march would be great weather like last March. No such luck! Hoping April will be better.
Baxter is in Marne?
You're probably thinking Baxter Iowa East of DSM around I-80 xit 159. Baxter Cycle is in Marne Iowa. I-80 exit 51, go south a few miles. Can't miss it, just after you come in to town. (I say town loosely, it's more of a village, or a berg)
LOL!!!!! I should have read farther down on the ad. I will be able to make the May Baxter Cycle Open House in May.
Got out for a little ride this Saturday before the weather took a turn for the worst.
Cedar Creek looks perfect for a canoe trip but was a little too high to hit the water crossings just yet.
Really pleased to have the bike out the first weekend of Spring, even if it was short lived.
Your going to need real tires on that beast to go to Moab next month.
The back end of your bike fell off again! What happened? Is it protesting from being started in the bitter cold?
I really have to stop dropping the clutch.
He was all like... "BRAAAPPPPP"
But then was all like... "D'OH!"
New tires are on the list probably Heidinau's but maybe TKC 80's. Crash bars are going on before tires though
Got out today for some good exploring.
Lots of mud out there.
Found this old cemetery in the woods.
I didn't ride in the cemetery, just pushed my bike up near for perspective .
Some ATV trails
I can't tell you yet where this water crossing is untill I Tenere it when it drys up some mud.
This is going to be fun!!!
It still looks like this.
I'm ready for more.
looks like a fun ride eemsreno
Didn't go play in the mud but did a few gravel roads for my birthday yesterday. Stopped by Maffitt Reservoir and snapped a few pics...
Happy Birthday! Hopefully I'll finally get mine back together this weekend and be ready to hit the road again. 60 degree weather and no motorcycle is killing me.
Got out for some riding yesterday.
