I was at the water crossing on Sunflower (Silver creek I think) over Labor day weekend. The water was up and moving. I didn't make it across with my GS, maybe if we weren't 2 up and loaded I could have made it, but after getting wet and picking it up mid-stream i gave up and turned around.

My friend is racing in the Women's World Cup race both in Iowa City and Waterloo so I'm her mechanic. Staying over this way and doing the Trans Wisconsin Trail during the week and shooting to be in Waterloo sometime on Thursday. Didn't make sense to go back to Ohio Monday only to drive back Thursday (and only get two days of work in)

Wife and I rode out to the Amanas and back Saturday/Sunday. Was a nice little ride.

@Rethy I would possibly be down but the wussy in my would throw the Husky on the hitch hauler and drive the Jeep up and ride from there.

So trailer up. It is a good hall for a single. Or bring the duck. I rode gravel yesterday and it is so dry I could not see the road behind me. lots of tasty paved roads up that way. Wisconsin has some nice paved as well. One of the benefits of riding solo is no one has to eat dust. No worries!

I looked at the schedule and have decided (at least for now) that I'm going. I don't know if your friend is a Pro or young, but it looks like the 60+ guys are lined up with the Women masters, so she might be out there kicking my butt.

Well that was a disaster. Rolled my rear tire twice and quit about half way through.

How she do? I came back and watched the Pros on Sunday. Our local Wi gal was quite impressive. Too bad Katie crashed.

Hosting a ride this Sunday, October 1st, near Bellevue, Iowa. 7 mile looping trail. Single track with lots of 'elevation changes' also known as hills. NOT big bike friendly. 11:30 until ? Info and video from previous ride on page 414. More info on Chicago Dual Sport Riders meet-ups.
Email with questions and I will give an address, if you can't figure it out from the gps pic..... brianreed5506 at gmail dot com

I was just out in Madison County a week ago to check Pammel State Park. I believe that is where the water crossing picture took place. Pretty country for sure. Looks like you have fun exploring it.
