I've been having fun with the OsmAnd online logging capability lately. Being a computer programmer, I've ignored the fact that there are already web sites that can take submissions from OsmAnd and record the tracks. I've started working on my own website to do this and show position on a map. It's working, but is still very young. If there is interest, I may eventually make it available for others to use, if they want.

My question is this. Does anyone know of an app for the iPhone that can report its position in a similar way to OsmAnd? I'm an android user, but it would be nice to be able to be usable with iOS.

Glympse may be close , but I don't have an iPhone to tell you for certain. It works very well on android.

Ate you using Google docs for submission via osmand? I'm interested in that stuff

I'll take a look at Glympse, thanks.

I have a Ruby on Rails application that accepts the url from OsmAnd and saves the data points to a database. Then accessing the tracking page and supplying a start and end date displays the points on a map using Leaflet.js. Right now it's only single user, but I'm working on that.

Screenshot of what I have so far:

That's pretty dang sweet. You're using osm instead of Google maps too ?
