We're BACK!! About 4 this afternoon. Glad I shut my AC off, power cycled on and off 3 times before staying on. I let it run 15 minutes before turning AC back on. Learned that lesson the hard way.

Thanks. We weathered the storm in NC and power was back on when we got home. i've heard of at least one house down by the river that had water inside, but all in all, we were spared any real damage in Melbourne Beach.

Lost power the 10th, just got it back today around 1:00 PM.
No damage to our home, but lots of damage in the community.
Generator saved our food and made ice for the beer.

News has gone on to other topics up here in New England. Last I knew friends who evacuated the lower Keys hadn't been allowed back home. Has that changed or will it anytime soon?

Usually work out of the Sumterville yard, but worked Marion Oaks a couple of days. Guided a group of hard workers from Louisiana to make the repairs.

Thanks for all you guys did. I saw SECO guys early Monday in my neighborhood accessing damage. They were all over it. From reports , seems like you guys should give the Duke boys some lessons.
My wife's cousin and brother both work for SECO. They put in a lot of hours last week.
Watch your back in Marion Oaks. A lot of bad shit happens there.

A bit late on this but I've been busy. Venice, FL one mile from the Gulf. I watched NOAA as the eye went 30(?) miles E of us. It's a long story, I'd just gotten back from hauling a trailer to Massachusetts, plywood was already gone etc. Anyway, we prepared, hunkered in our '78 house. Minor water down the chimney. No exterior home damage. A couple limbs from my huge oaks that would have crushed car roofs, and tons of smaller branches and debris. Questions, message me.

Lost power 4:20 on the 10th got it back on the afternoon of the 18th. FLP had been telling us to expect it to take until the 22nd so to me they did well!

I've seen, and given thumbs up to, trucks from WestPenn, Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama etc. all around my area! Nice to see all the help! Remember to thank these people! Most of them aren't getting much sleep lately!

Just saw this thread. Cut and paste from my post in S.A.D.D. Wednesday at 5:58PM (9/20)......

"We just now got back on Spectrum internet/tv/landline. Lost 240V power in the storm but had 120V to the whole house thanks to a shorted line and neutral upstream from us. Got all power back Friday and again Saturday after a breeze blew a limb or big bamboo into the lines again and knocked down everything the crew from Iowa had repaired the day before. They finished their Saturday's job in time to get back to our street and fix it all over again before dark. Great guys! The foreman told me not to get them beer because they were on call so I got them three cases of Snapple & lemonade.

Only damage was 16 feet of fence down in back (north fence; south wind at peak storm here; and 8 other posts leaning outward that have to be straightened up. Figured out how to do that last year after Mathew made 3 posts lean outward.

Taking my time with this cleanup. Getting older and slower."

Daughter stayed down in Palm Bay on the mainland and never lost power. After we got power and cable back we had to wait on water to be restored a few days after they secured it to barrier islands due to many water main breaks during the peak of the storm. Then boil water alert for 3 days. I had big camping potable water jugs filled and ready though.
