Is it a "day trip" if you are only gone a couple of hours?

92 miles in and around the San Isabel National Forrest with some side trips just to see what was down that road.

Mostly pavement, some graded gravel roads and a little two track just because.

It was the first checkout ride on the new to me NC700X DCT. The DCT is going to take a little getting used to, but it wasn't really a hindrance. I would have been in a lower gear, and held it longer a few times. I used the downshift button a couple of times and got the desired result. I will try the "Sport" mode next time as well.

    I learned a few things:

    1) my sunglasses aren't comfortable under my helmet for more than an hour. I need some with thin wire arms.
    2) I could use a taller windshield or more aerodynamic helmet, I was getting quite a bit of wind noise
    3) My cell phone is not acceptable as a nav system
    4) I need a simple camera and a way to access it easily on the bike. There were MANY, MANY more beautiful views that I couldn't/didn't capture to share with you guys.

Nice pics, looks like a good ride. Hopefully no one takes defining a "day trip" to the extreme of the "adventure rider" threads.

It's a good day when a person doesn't gripe to themselves about the seat on their bike, so this is all good. :-)
