After a slow wake up and after breakfast and after the carwash visit and oil&filter change it was already after 2pm today so no big rush to get anywhere.
Went for a look to Topolobampo and see that they have since my last visit here twinned the entire 26km of road from Los Mochis to the docks. But watch your speed though ! Passing the intersection with the airport road at a normal clip the Policia Municipal decided they needed some extra money.
HOLA SENOR INFRACCION, SOBREVELOCIDAD The TICKE would be 92 dollars and would I like to pay at the roadside or conduct business in town in which case they would have to keep my license and ,of course , the office was closed today. I handed him my homemade fake license copy ready to sacrifice it and told him to write out the ticket so that I could take care of it later. That put a damper on his enthusiasm , no pen touched his notepad or ticket book and he went back to his vehicle to talk with his buddy who in my mirror I could see laughing. Then he came back and said he was going to help me and handed my license back to me and said to watch my speed. No TICKE :D
Beautiful weather 31C and got a s far as Guamuchil when I decided to drop anchor. It is great to have no schedule to maintain:clap

Well, I do have a 5 gallon bucket of ACME "Image Tarnish Remover" for after your scooter ride. Why do I have 5 gallons?
We all need some of that stuff some time and it is better to have it in stock than to have to wait for them to ship it from Spandau.

That is so much cooler than the regular pointy pope-hat. Probably sporting spurs under the robes as well.

Give that man one of those big Guitarrones.

    BTW- Trice

That's a good mapping of the Arco Norte. Better than what's in my Guia Roji- the road may be there, but it sure isn't marked ARCO NORTE.

Maybe you can go into the mapa business.

Here's a tip for Arco Norte that's not on any map either:

Heading south on 57D from SMA, Queretaro, San Juan del Rio etc., you will arrive at the Arco Norte exit and you'll have two choices of direction which sitting here at the computer is an easy academic selection but in practice, given the signage, can at first be a bit disconcerting, causing you to pull over and actually think about which direction you want (I'm assuming here for sake of the example the intent is to arc southeast to Puebla's direction, to continue on towards Veracruz or cut off to Oaxaca). Just be thinking about this beforehand because it is easy to take the incorrect veer and head off southwest vs southeast given the signs and the construction of the exit.

Coming the other direction from Puebla is not a problem since the beginning and the end of the Arco is off of 150D, you just have to realize how quickly (in the big picture) it is after you leave Puebla. It is clearly marked. Then again, if you eat breakfast at VIPs right there outside Puebla on 150D you may be in a pleasant daze and miss the exit.

When you get the urge to reload your supply of these remember that here at Casa Tricepilot we run the Mexico Mordida License Company. Color copier, photo paper, laminator, cutting board all ready to go.

Not for riders like Sjoerd in this situation because he has the skills down pat, but for others who have not been through this experience, for a small fee we provide 3 fake licenses and will role play a realistic traffic stop in Mexico with you as the unaware rider, and me, Schizzman, Bato and Chango as the Mexican coppers bent on taking your money.

Our "Deluxe Package" includes the simulated experience of being taken downtown to face Jimmex as the Judge.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Who would've guessed that a GoPro could enhance bike performance better than a race tuner?
