Fantastic little one lane mountain towns. With the bridge out. Can you say "Oh. Shit. "? I know I can.

There are 2 GSs pulled up in front of our little hotel right now. (One eyed Jack has arrived) We don't have a Starbucks in Banamichi but we serve some fine Chiapas coffee. Candy Asses, smart asses - all are welcome here. (Dumb asses are ok in small doses.) Like we say -- just ride.

Yeah, I wish the Tourism department was paying my gas and beer! Pero son unos pinche codos ja,ja!
Bato, when you come back, we'll do that ride you missed when you headed north.
Andy is going to like this one, too.
The rider who was with me is a visiting moto journalist and he had a lot of fun, we did about a 1,000 miles in 3 days at higher elevations and the weather has been fantastic, lately.
But it was my turn to get that damn cough and cold that has still been going around. Lost my voice one morning.
Carnaval is on but that means more time to ride as we have two days off for the celebrations.

Terrapinneck was our photog. The RR should be worth reading. The Biosphera dude came and told us we couldn't stay in the middle of the river. All we could do is laugh. Like we intended to be there.

By the Way, the river crossing on the goat trail east of San Pablo in the Barranca Metztitlan east of Tolantongo is special sweet on a fully loaded GS Adventure. So I did part. Thelawnguy81 insisted he didn't want the trip to end ....so he finished it for me. Thank God.

Need someone to send me a stripper in a nurse's uniform to feed me soup. :dic

Great pics, SOG, glad you are having fun.

We are Jim. Just wishing I had picked the right bike for this trip. Weight is not your friend on loose rocky switchbacks.

I am so thankful for this thread and this site and the RR's. got me off my dead ass. So thank y'all.

Hey. What's the name of a (the) nice hotel in Jalpan? Seemed to be one at the intersection of 69 and 120. But could have been just a restaurant. ducati congregation when we came through Saturday. Will be a street day for us. Well. Not exactly sure the road through Otongo to Santa Anna de Allende is paved but I can always hope. Looks twisty as Hell on google earth.

    Edit: Mission Jalpan?

The pump and filter have both been changed with new units. That is not the problem! :cry A mechanic friend of a local is going to check it out today, plus I have a man will to haul the moto to Guatemala.

Yes, I will keep that in mind. I don't know him, but I followed his recent long term Ride Report.

You're close to being on the road again with this plan, Donnie.

Like I said, once you get the bike to Guatemala City, catch the bus back to Antigua (or have Chris at CATours arrange transportation for a small fee). Guatemala City and Antigua are fairly close together.

You'll have peace of mind that your ride is buttoned up and in good shape, meanwhile, you pass the time in beautiful Antigua.

That's the one. Thanks,Trice. Jalpan tonight. Montemorelos Wednesday. Border early Thursday. One more noob question. Coming from the west into Reynosa where is the turn to the Anzalduas bridge? Well marked?

    Clearly marked

    Here's some maps

    This one might be handy:

If for some weird reason you miss the clearly marked turn, if you see the Holiday Inn on your left (as you're coming from the West), you've gone too far.
