I like my naked Rockster but these days it's gettin' chilly in PA.

Is there a windscreen out there for my bike that looks good? And made for a Rockster, not a universal screen.

    Thanks,
    Rob H

    hello,

    check out www.r1150r.org
go to the message boards and there's a rockster forum there. i just got my rockster a month ago and i like the naked look but the blast was a bit too much for me. wunderlich makes 2 different screens for the rockster. the "low" and the "trimm".

i got the "trimm". it's the smallest one they make. i'm loving it so far. it takes the blast off me and it's quite adjustable and i'm still fine tuning the adjustment for me. i'm 5' 8" and i've got it adjusted where the wind is blowing just at my forehead (i think). but i know that my highway riding is much easier to deal with.

i got mine from santa cruz bmw and you can order by the part # 8110350.

you should check out that forum though and there's a thread about different windshields.

    Thanks fro the info.

Like all BMW parts, the windshield Agyspy got looks good but $$$ (300.00+). I'll look around for more but I don't want something with a cheezy mounting system.

I assume windscreens a typically polycabonate? I'm thinking of designing a custom one myself. This means making a form, finding someone to vacuum form it, then fabricating mounts....I've got too many projects already.

    OK, I'll keep looking.

    hey designo,

you should really check out www.r1150r.org
(i'd paste the link but it always comes up r1150.org no matter what page you're on)
like i said, they have a rockster forum and there's a thread called "with or without winshield" and many people posted pics of their screens including a couple of people who've made their own. one guy made one from an old helmet shield. there's tons of info there for the rockster.

also if you go to A&S cycles, they have a few shields for the rock as well.

BTW, which rock do you have?

Windscreen (the LIP looks interesting). I did get a rear seat and bag mounts. Need rear pegs.

My next big investment will be Motosport Kevlar jacket and pants - this will set me back almost 1K. But it's worth it for4 all I've read.

    You?

i hear you on the riding gear, just as important as accessorie's.

i have the full remus exaust system (cat eliminated/y-pipe) and a power commander. i've got really smooth power through the whole range. that's it for now but maybe if i have money next year, i might switch to higher compression pistons from San Jose BMW that bring's the compression up to 12:1. but that's going into a whole other territory that i might not want to go.

so you retired the shield, meaning you sold it?
i like the way that screen looks, but i'd trim it down a little. who makes that one?

is that a chip that matches the leovince?
i've been happy with the power commander.

It's the BMW shield made for the Rock. It caused major buffeting and I just prefer to ride naked. :rofl
