I am informed by a long-time resident expat motorcyclist in Phhom Penh that the bike is a 1995 Honda Dream which has had some modifications to increase safety while carrying 15 mattresses.

Mattress man seems to be trying to ride up a small ridge at the side of the loose dirt road at a shallow angle. Let's hope he doesn't get too much wheel spin.

I wonder how many people it takes to help him get it loaded and balanced when he starts off.

I take my hat off to him.

He made it across the lump in the road, but he did touch his foot to the ground. Later, when he rode off a wooden bridge abutment his front wheel lifted a few inches so he rode the bike skillfully like a unicycle for ten or fifteen feet until he gracefully brought the front wheel back down on the dirt highway; he was like a Chaoyang Circus or Cirque du Soleil performer. He's a better rider than I am ... even if he doesn't wear a helmet, boots, and eye protection.

Dont have a pic cuz i was the driver, but i just picked up my lady from work and totally had forgotten that i took my passenger pegs off. Had to ride across brooklyn, including highway, with her legs around my waist, leaning back to grab the grab handles. Hope someone got a pic, im sure we looked like a coupla clueless squids. Or a lost carnival side show act.

Only having one foot on the ground when stopped is the way I was taught. I will say this though: both riders have the wrong foot on the ground - should be left foot ground, right foot brake, 1st gear and hand on throttle ready to get out of trouble. Pretty sure if you don't do this you would fail the bike tests in the EU and certainly in the UK.
