....and Kurt Casseli. I'm looking forward to riding down for at least a few days of the competition. Went last year and now I'm hooked!

Day 1. His boots are still clean. I think that Mark finished somewhere in the top 3rd after day 6. Thanks to AdvRider Southest US
Thumper for having me look for him on the course.

Still getting oriented after arriving Sunday early on the ferry from Livorno, I managed to make my way to the paddock for the start and then on to special test 3 in Arzachena. Just some US team shots here today. Day 2 I will post some of the top finishers from the various Trophy teams.

Italy's finest! Notice the traffic paddle stuffed in their boots and the nifty pole mounted K-mart light.

Taylor Robert on a Kawasaki 450/4 and Charlie Mullins on his KTM 450/4 at the start.

Michael Brown on his KTM 500/4. Day 1 was extremely dusty despite having rained most of the previous night. Plus lightning. I spent the night in a one man tent. I know of what I speak.

Russel Kailub on his ring-ding-ding KTM 250/2.

Jessie Groemm on ring-ding-ding Yamaha 250/2.

Ian Blythe on a KTM 250/4.

Mandi Maston on a KTM 200/2.

Hey Jethro, thanks for snapping the pic. :) And Robert for telling you to look for me. It was a fun six days but quite easy this year and more moto oriented then anything. The harder it is the better I do for some reason, so didn't achieve my goal unfortunately. :1drink

Started the day at the Pittulongu special test (mostly flat) and finished up at the scenic Monte Pino special test in the foothills outside Olbia. After 2 days of racing (12 tests and 10 time checks), these guys are only seperated by seconds. Some of these pictures were shot with the flash in the woods - I'm not sure about the affect, but the flash caught enough detail to include their race stare.

Leader after day 2: Australian Daniel Milner on a Yamaha 450/4.

In second and only 10 seconds back, Italian Alex Salvini on a Honda 450/4.

Third and 13 seconds back, Frenchman Antoine Meo on a KTM 250/4.
Fourth and 32 seconds off the pace, Frenchman Johnny Aubert on a KTM 450/4.
5th and 47 seconds back, Frenchman Pierre Alexandre Renet on Husaberg 450/4.
6th and 51 seconds back, American Taylor Robert on a Kawasaki 450/4.
    7th.....Spaniard Ivan Cervantes on a KTM 350/4.
    8th....American Charlie Mullins on a KTM 450/4
    [IMG]
    9th......Aussie Joshua Strang on a Suzuki 450/4.

    10th....American Michal Brown on a KTM 500/4.

Hey Mark, great job! We gotta figure out a way to get a North American Fan Club going with sweet airfare deals down to Argentina next year. I got a 12 volt Siren from a 1930's Fire Engine rigged up to a Shorai battery to provide a morale boost in the middle of No Place!!! We could give the Agro Aussie, Euro, and South American fans a run for their money!!!

I even got a Vuvuzela or two for the South Africans....
