    Hello and Thank Amitos23!
On the ferry to Cyprus big problems - from the northern (Turkish) Cyprus can not be officially enter Cyprus, so the ferry to Haifa is probably not available.
But in the opposite direction, perhaps maybe not having an exit stamp of Cyprus to leave northern Cyprus to Turkey.
Perhaps it will create problems in the future, visiting Cyprus.
Ferry Turkey - Israel - Egypt canceled last year, unfortunately.

    Hello everybody,

    I've just signed in.
My name is Konstantin, I live near Ariel (Samaria), and for the last 3.5 years I've ridden Suzuki Bandit 1200S 01'. The bike serves me both as a daily commuter (100 km per day, most of them highway riding) and for pleasure rides on weekend.
Unfortunately, I wrecked the Bandit a few weeks ago - so I'll be looking for another bike in the near future.

The only trip that I did abroad by now was a 1100km tour in Peloponnese, Greece, on a rented Honda CB500X. It was great, and I'm sure that the next trip of this kind is just a matter of time.

Signing in. I moved to Israel about a year ago and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the prices of bikes. Does anyone know the best place (other than Yad2) to pick up a bike? I'm looking for something like a DR, XT, XR around the 650 capacity.

    Cheers,
    Virgil

Look... It is a bit complicated.
Yad2.co.il is the main resource. However, from my experience, if you have a good bike, in decent condition, and the price that you ask for it is fair - one of your friends will buy it from you. So, many of the really good deals wouldn't appear at web resources.
As far as I understand, you are looking for an old (let's say, 95'-05' model) dual-purpose motorcycle. The chances to find such bike in decent condition are quite low, and if you find one - I believe, that you'd be shocked by the seller's appetite.
You didn't mention what is your budget, but I would recommend you to look at BMW F650 singles, or, if real off-road capability isn't a major requirement - at Honda Transalp 650 or Suzuki V-Strom 650. These bikes tend to be in far better condition than DR's/XT's/XR's, there are more of them on the market, and IMO - they are more practical for everyday use.
Finally - if you find your deal, but the price is a bit too high - remind yourself, that you are in the Middle East. Don't hesitate to bargain :)

I hope this is still an active page... I'm planning to bring a British registered bike into Israel from Jordan. I have a Carnet for Jordan and can't find any firm confirmation of needing one (or not) for Israel. So a very simple question:

Do I need a Carnet for a British bike in Israel?
