Hi, have trip planned for riding in Italy then heading north into Dolomites and into Switzerland. Will be looking for good passes to go over including Stelvio. I'll be riding a Honda 1000cc touring type bike and staying in hotels and hostels.
If anyone is interested in connecting anywhere along the route that would be great.

What date are you looking at? 3 Days in the Dolomites are enough for me. Too much traffic due to Busses, Campervans, Caravans and Cyclists

I will be making a trip during the same time interval, Sept 5-13, but coming out of the north. Leaving Kassel Sept 5, planning to hit the Großglockner Pass, Wurzen Pass, Vrsec Pass, Mangart Road, Mendel Pass, Stelvio Pass, Timmelsjoch Pass, then head back through Innsbrück. Should be in the Dolomites Sept 9 to 11, roughly. Any of that overlap with your plans? Let me know if you want to try to meet somewhere. I will be traveling solo.

I was just in western Italy a few days ago and am wanted to do the Stelvio Pass on the 10th, unfortunately work and the weather may be delaying that ride another year. There are some AMAZING roads out there, great road from the towns of Roveretto - Folgaria - Tonezza.

The weather looks too cold for higher altitude riding. I will be waiting until next year, also.
But, I'm headed out tomorrow for the Black Forest(planning to ride the B500 road), and then into France near Colmar to hit the Vosges mountains. Hoping to dodge the rain showers and find some sunshine.

It was my first time in North Western Italy but I'm looking forward to taking my 1200gs out there next season. I'd like to do the Stella Alpina tour and drove my car close to the camp site last week. It's all dirt road with some large stones, but it looks like an amazing and difficult route.
