The goal: go north, camp at Meat Cove, ride, and see a moose
    The result: pictures :D

Due to time constrains - and not wanting to put my hubby through a 850 mile interstate ride on a LC4 - we decided to cheat a bit:

Trucking up from Western North Carolina to Massachusetts

and got treated with a fabulous taco dinner by Librarian and his wife Laura:

Day 1: Massachusetts - New Hampshire - Maine

    or "damn is it's hot!!!!"

we started out a bit slow: unloading

and figuring out the luggage situation :lol3

once we finally got on the road, the temps already hit the 90th - ending up at around 98F in NH. WTF???

    almost at the coast!

not many riding pics for this day... it was more a "transfer day". But we ended up with a great camp spot near the coast

and finished the day with some freshly cooked crustacean

    tomorrow: Maine Coast :evil

Good to see an F650 of the Funduro variety. I've recently purchased the same bike. What luggage set up do you have on yours?

I was at Meat Cove last month... amazing place! Ironically, I only saw 1 freaking moose the entire trip (rode out to Newfoundland) and was not able to snap a photo of him! :(

I have racks for cases (w/o the cases) and just threw over some old saddle bags I had laying around. The tank-bag is a bit modified (I added buckles) to stop it from sliding around so much. Link to pic

I strongly believe that Moose and Unicorns are related.... :lol3

    stay tuned for day two

No day of riding can start w/o a good cup of coffee :*sip*

And yes, it's old school, no fancy schmancy yet-boil, but it works just fine the the burner comes apart and fit's right into the percolator for transport.
(the pic makes it look much bigger than it actually is)

strolled down to the lake on my first "moose hunt" - no moose :bluduh

Once we passed Acadia the area actually got much better. We choose to skip the park, since it was Saturday and we did not feel like creeping along for over an hour in a parade of cars. Our goal was to avoid the tourist traps - not join them. And especially places like the 24 hr LLBean outlets. WTF, do I look like I wanted to go shopping on vacation???? :huh (rant over)

Day 2 and 3: Deer Island

Campobello Island (you can get beer, but no gas and in the winter your only way "out" is going to the US
    [IMG]

Ferry landing for Deer Island (where you can get gas - but no beer :lol3) - the island you see in the pic is actually the Eastport in the US

We were greeted at the ferry landing by West Isle Foo Foo - a truly great guy who provided us with one of the best camp spots you can ever imagine

    wait for it

    :clap:clap:clap

a great conversation and a few brewskies (which we bought of a guy on the ferry after learning that you can't buy any on Deer Island) was the perfect finish for a great day

The next morning we walked over to West Isle Foo Foos mom and were treated to an incredible breakfast

Al, we were going to invite you to come along, but since you can't ride fifty feet without breaking an ankle, we thought you might slow us down...:lol3
