Yami. Not so yammi, but still
Best luck to all!
^^^ case in point ^^^
Boy oh boy... that team Yamaha 450 is one lean mean rally machine as well... an mx'er with big tank, wide ratio transmission and a map roller - bare bones...! ASO are going to have to downsize the rally number plates I think...? there's hardly enough space on these latest "minimalist" factory bikes to put the riders name and blood type on...
Rod Faggotter - done it all, no need to show off.
Some other guy too.. I have to look up his name.
Did I read somewhere that Lopez is in a car this year?
I foresee red on the top of the podium this year
GO!!! Bill GO!!!
I think I recall seeing somewhere that Chaleco announced a deal only recently where he will compete next year (2019?) in a SxS/UTV...? EDIT:
I hope that GONK get's to ride his own race from the flag drop this year... also.
He lists himself as Czech (his former home), but he now lives in USA.
@tsc, said something like it depends on how they walks through customs.
Documentation at DAKAR this year is gonna be interesting...
ASO lists Petr Vlcek, aka Angelo, aka Wolfey, as Czech since he holds a Czech passport. He asked for USA.
From Toby Price FB page
Moto selfie! Last day is done here in Morocco, time to board a plane home tomorrow! Huge thank you to Red Bull and the KTM Factory Racingfor getting me a bike last minute for the test, I'm stocked to say I'll be at Dakar Rally! The leg has held up doing around 1500km and isn't showing any signs of being sore at all, a perfect result!
Looks like the leg is holding up fine and we'll see Toby on the start line in January
A lot Yammie pictures here
Could it be that the Yamaha still doesn't have an electric starter?
it has both... apparently
... from the WR450F Rally Replica spec' sheet:
Starter System: Electric and Kick
Lopreis' Tatra Truck.
They made it even smaller. Looks very cool in my opinion.
His hair looks too European to be listed as US competitor.
He runs a surf shop!
I believe it has it since 2015 - https://www.cycleworld.com/2015/01/...amaha-racing-team-director-dakar-rally#page-2 - "Thanks to our Japanese engineers, the bike is equipped with electric start."
