Seems to be a recurring problem the world over. Here in Oz the pirates are no exception. Now if they could only ride I might just see their point.

With the way things are going these days, I wouldn't be so certain one way or the other.

    Government in action,

Outcome A. loud motorcycles are pulled over and cited as part of normal traffic enforcement, in time virtually all bikes on the road are compliant.

Outcome B. There are general random checks for a while, some citations are issued, in the long run there is little actual effect on loud bikes.

Outcome C. Nothing is done once the political posturing is yesterdays news, life goes on as normal........until next time.

How often does the government choose option A?
    Taking odds?

None... I was joking... I will never see their point. Although I must admit that when my lady, on her Harley, comes home I can feel the vibration and get up and make her a hot cup of coffee when she arrives. I guess "loud pipes save lives" but my survival is a different interpretation. :clap

You bring up a very good point that I never thought about. Of course being pulled over randomly to have my bike sound checked will piss me off, there is the distinct possibility that those who use their unmuffled machines to prop up their inferiority issues, will give up the sport and find another man made device to prop up lacking manhood. Perhaps they will migrate back to the unmuffled 20 yr old Toyota Corollas and AMC Pacers they occupied previously. I only hope.

Lol... my wife hears me riding down the street and opens the garage door for me and my daughter is there waiting for me. Loud pipes are worth it! :D

Seriously? What possible reason would they have for that? Are weed whackers legal? Power hedge trimmers?

Is it a carb thing or a noise thing? I really shouldn't be amazed since it is california, but damn.

they pollute about 5 to 10 times more than cars a lot of the time. hell, Just in our apartment complex they use 4 simultaneously and it absolutely FILLS the complex with two stroke fumes that linger for about an hour.
They also are pretty consistent about using them at fun times like Saturday at 7am. They are noisy as hell and you would be astonished at how often a guy from one yard blows all his crap across the way, then the guy across the way blows it back.
I cant tell you how often all you hear is the drone of those fucking things. Believe me, there is a reason they are illegal.
