Yesterday I spent two hours working on this thread to make all cool & interesting then when I was just about ready to submit, it vanished! :eek1

So today I started over, making it even better than before! Truly a masterpiece, but you'll have to take my word for it because after an hour of waxing eloquent, with one finger....zap! Gone again. :ddog

Determined to share my photos, I'm just gonna post 'em and you can make up your own story. Basically I just went for an exploration ride to nowhere in particular. It was fun.

    :tough

Very nice. I am in love with your bike.

Next time try ctrl a then ctrl c before you hit submit. That way you can always start a new reply and hit ctrl v to past it all back in.

    G`day Riceless..

I`m not entirely sure here and someone will correct me if i`m wrong but I think you have 30 minutes to submit your post or you will be timed out.. I got caught in the same way you described and now I post smaller sections of the report or submit your post, and then edit it to add more.. Hope this helps some.. :thumb

Love your choice of transportation too mate..

Thanks. Funny you should say that because that was going to be the storyline of this post, how this machine never ceases to amaze me. From owning the daily commute, to rides like this one.

Thanks also to the rest of you for your comments and suggestions

I think I'm too old to try to learn to type now. :shog

The trail I'm exploring drops into an unknown arroyo. It's really beautiful and I think I know where it goes.

    Doesn't look too bad. :evil

    Still OK

Big Jeep tire tracks in the sand. That's a good sign, right?

Big rocks in the sand. I don't know if that's a good sign or not.

In spite of a lack of details on your ride, the pictures more than make up for it. Very nice, I'm envious. We just don't have quite that kind of scenery on the east coast. Going to have to venture west some day.

Very cool pictures! They pretty much stand alone. That kind of riding environment looks so foreign and neat compared to that stuff around here.

No, not stopped yet. My general rule of thumb for riding a new trail solo is, don't go down anything you can't go back up.

I may have broken that rule with this little drop.

    Relentless

I really try not to move rocks around to make the trail easier but today I moved some rocks.:shog Don't tell anybody.

At this point I'm thinkin' that maybe solitude isn't that great after all. I haven't seen anybody all day, and I'm starting to doubt my ability to backtrack up the arroyo.:knary So I get off to scout ahead on foot.

the picture was originally from the Marine Base out by Johnson Valley OHV park, it was next to the fence warning of the doom :grimahead if one was to go onto the base.
a buddy of ours made stickers from a picture Riceless took of the warning post.

If he crashes on a solo ride is he the victim or the perpetrator?

    Hi Brent. :wave

Nice picts, but I'm sorry, it sure looks like someone's gone and shot your cow. Oh, and it seems like if you can park your bike (with the kickstand) on a drop I'm guessing you can ride back up it. Mind you, I said "you", I'm not saying I could do it. Notice I always leave myself with an escape clause. :deal
