so is anyone still in for Sat/Sun in Clark Cty?
Peter check with Craig...cjracer...I think he plans on being up there by his parents place.
WOW! I never knew how many fire roads and such there were around there! (Never really had a good dirt vehicle or looked at a map that showed all the dirt roads before)
Looks like there's plenty to keep me and my wife busy around there!
Any other suggestions where to go?
BTW: Where is your place? You must be REAL close to us. We have a trailer (Currently in the process of building a cabin to replace it) on 2nd and Van Beek, about a mile or 2 from W and Parkway. We also have 40 acres near where 6th street turns into 49th Rd.
Looking again at the Gazetteer; I'm sure my wife and I will be spending some time up there next year. (Although I'll have to find her a DR200 first)
What happened to you guys? Bill and I made it to Snyder Park around noon and no one was there, Maybe everyone was out riding.
What a great day on Sat to hit the trails, very few ATVs and they had just been graded in some of the badly rutted up narrow areas. I'd say it was one of the best days I've been on those trails yet. We got in about 120 miles.
Did anyone else get out?
Well, I guess I could supply some photos as I am a man of few words:
CJ's ride...note the Phat tanks....12 friggin' gallons of fuel. Its like riding with Kwik Trip
Craig wondering why no one else showed up.... I rode my 620 yesterday and it was the first real good ride I put into that rig. For a 10 year old bike, its a blast.
Craig messin around with the 950:

Here's a video of Craig demonstrating on to not climb a hill with a terraflex:

Overall it was a beautiful day for riding. We saw some ATV's but not many and the trails were in great shape.
CJ, nice crash bars! Looks like they will really work. Now were are you going with the 12g tank? 12 x 40g = a radius of 480 miles, I think there may be a fuel stop or two somewhere with in that radius! But then, I guess it depends on what route you take.
04 KTM 625sxc $3500
05 KTM 950adv $8400
Next summer's trip will require there use. W/ the stock tanks, I find my self screwing around up in northern WI wondering if I'll make it out or not. When the riding's good I just hate to stop. This is just better piece of mind.
Plus I bought these w/ the insurance money I got for the replacement of my stock tank when I hit the dear in CO. So I guess they only cost me about $150. I took my smashed up SW- motech bars and got them to fit around these w/ some fab work, so I didn't build them from scratch.
I wonder if I'm still less weight than a BMW GS Adv? I think I am...
How does the Valdez handle with the added weight?
I didn't cause any environmental hazards.
I do like the bars and the tank is cool! I do not have the strength you young'ns do, so I have to leave it up to you and JeepBoy. Mean while, I will move on to smaller lighter bikes. I did get a 530! It does not replace the 625, more of a different animal to do the same thing differently. It is going to be fun. I can feel the raw power of the beast in it! Boy I love KTM!
WOW, a 530. Congrats. Those things look awesome. It's the street legal one?
Have fun w/ the new bike, like that's a hard thing to do on a KTM.
Craig and Bill,
Looks like a fun ride!
Bill, how do you like the 620??
Craig, you need to figure out a way to refuel other bikes in "flight" You could do one side of premix and the other with premium.
Catch you later..
holy tank batman
Didn't make it up to Clark county, but I did get out to watch the Governor tear around on our friend Bills trail.
This is the last thing you see before you get run over by an RM250 :eek1
oser We almost needed to do that. We started headed north around the trail crossing at 95 and I forgot Bill said he needed fuel, the plan was to go into Neillsville via 95 to get gas. It slipped my mind as I took a short cut to get us back before it got dark. We ended up at Snyder Park, when Bill stops me and reminds me he needed fuel. Oops. I guess I had some to spare in a pinch so I was not overly worried. (about 7 gallons worth) But I think another small Facet fuel pump to transfer gas may be handy. I'll be the 950 refueling rig. He made it back on fumes. Now Bill knows how far he can ride on a tank.
Nice pics Chad.
Is that your new Strom?
That 620 is too much friggin fun. Its a fun bike to beat around on and that is what we did. That thing runs like a champ and yes, its about 120 miles for a tank unless you are running with a Mobile station. We hit a great whoop section somewhere.....I want to go this weekend , but to much shootin' going on. Until next year....
How about a "Holiday" ride? Let's say Knobby Ridge the weekend of Dec 29?
Sounds like a plan. I may have to hold onto the TW till then, unless I get the KTM goin.
Sounds good to me. I may have to ride the 950, because if I wipe out the white 620 I may loose it in the snow
I will be there! Are you looking at just Saturday or Saturday and Sunday??
I will probally camp at Snyder Campground Friday night...possible Saturday also if Sunday is a ride day also!
