OK Bill, I'm going to kick the Bee Hive :amazon and call you on that one...

I don't think, when we were on ANY ride, that I've ever heard ANYONE ever say "wow that was a good ride but it needed more sand" or "that ride would have been better if there was more sand" or even "that ride was boring, next time include more sand". You can't ride in Florida (esp. ONF) without hitting some sand. :deal So there is no need to try and include any sandy trails intentionally. I haven't lead as many rides as you have, but none of my rides have included sand as anything but unavoidable sections (and minimal at that) and NO one has ever complained that there wasn't enough sand.

"I don't need no stink'in sand to enjoy a ride and not be bored!" :cob

OK everyone, now is the time to voice your opinion and tell Bill just how much you do or don't like sand purposefully included on ride routes. :evil

My two cents is if I don't see sand on a ride, I'm just fine without it...:clap ...I'll ride it if I encounter it, but I won't seek it out.

Hey guys, sand is good for ya, makes you a better rider, and builds character, so man-up and quit whining. :D

Believe me I don't have to seek it out, it's everywhere, just don't go as far out of the way anymore to avoid it, get used to it. :1drink

    DUDE!!!

    Whining??? :eek1

When you get your butt to the end of a 5, 10, 15 or more line of riders and ride sweep through the ruts of what was once a trail, something that you refuse to do, then you can tell me to "man up"... :moon

We all ride because we enjoy riding, period. I don't know ANYONE that owns and rides a dual sport bike that seeks out sand to ride in or on. Yes, we can't avoid it here in FL but what I'm saying is avoid it whenever and wherever possible to keep it to a "enjoyable" minimum. If sand is so "good for ya, makes you a better rider, and builds character" and you like the sand dragon so much then why don't you "man up" and ride it back and forth all day! Lets see after an hour or so just how good a rider you become and where your "character" is then...

Dude,... I can't believe you said that I was "whining". :confused

    Hey inmates!

i was wondering if you guys could key me in some cool places to ride around northern FL. I plan on being there for christmas (roughly the 22nd to 30th). Ill be hauling to GA and riding into gainesville for the week. What im looking for is some offroad trail riding, maybe a ride to a beach maybe camp a night? if you know of some cool places let me know. Id say i would ride up to 4 hours to a location. I have a adv990 and can certainly keep it between my legs i just dont have much experience in deep soft sand, but would love to get some practice in! Ill be poking around for some threads but thought id say hello and see what you guys have
