Until I can do my own big trip, I at least can follow yours!
All the best from the Netherlands!
Well Jy made it to Las Cruces, New Mexico about 9:30 last night and headed out in 40f degrees and a forecast of high winds heading for California. He certainly is well prepared and loaded Best of luck on a great trip.
Crossing into Arizona now from NM, cold and windy, barren.
Jay just left Phoenix.
Thanx for the pic Dave and thanx for hosting :) Didn't get much rain, but fighting a chilly strong head wind. At the CA border and it's sunny.
I've read your other RRs...
Keep up the good work for those of us who can't hit the road just yet.
I'm keeping my eye one you as well. Thanks for the postings.
I enjoyed our time together in Chicago during the International Motorcycle Show.
Stay comfortable and enjoy every mile. Mario ô¿~
Best of luck buddy!
Best of luck Jammin
You have already started inspiring me. I have a feeling this will be one of the top RR. I will follow you vicariously, my thoughts are with you.
Jay, I hope you don't mind if I share a few more pics.
Jay considers a route for tomorrow. We spent the evening talking motorcycles, good California roads, and watching both of the Dual Sport Riding Techniques DVDs. He hadn't seen them before so he should have some new tricks up his sleeve when the road gets a little gnarly.

Nice pics Dave :)
Crazy winds in southern Cali today, being tossed side to side - good practice for Patagonia...
Staying in ADVer's cabin in high desert outside LA, near Yucca Valley. To SF tmrw.
Planning to host a dinner Friday night. If you're around and want to show up, let me know. Time and place still being decided on.
Great to see the guys supporting a global adventurer :)) Jam on, boet! (Afrikaans for brother)
Jay, I am in the East Bay. If you need a place to stay from Thursday night on let me know. Also let me know where the dinner is. I can't not support a fellow adventurer named Jay.
Hey Jay, sorry I couldn't meet you in person hope you enjoyed the super secret Scorpion Lair®.
Sounds like you are on the threshold of an epic adventure,
Keep the pics coming.
Dave, the cabin was great, had all the comforts needed. Winds were crazy strong at night, had to get up and make sure bike wasnt blown over, lol. Thx
Made it to San Jose, staying with rider I met on my Alaska trip, Chris. Shoulders are sore after 3 days of riding into the chilly wind. Just my luck that the whole of CA is in a cold spell Looking forward to warmer weather across the border.
Over next few days going to service the bike, mount new tires, unload some items and repack.
Details on dinner to come soon. Plan for Friday around 7 pm or later in the city.
