Wasn't trying to argue. The way it was described once it sounded like you should keep your bike upright and turn by hanging of the side.

And WOW, isn't this unprotected cylinder head close to some REALLY big $$$$ repairs?

I know BMW claims the R1200GS is the end-all-do-all bike....but wouldn't these guys be happier on a sport bike leaving the GS for us
Adventure Touring guys for which it's designed?.....just MHO here as I sure love my GS and the 14,000 miles I put on her this summer...
which up here is ~3-4 months. :vardy Call me a whimp, but with all this white stuff on the ground now..."I'm out" until next May.
Cheers & see ya' next spring - coach :freaky

You might be surprised at how much scraping they can do before they get a hole. On top of that, a hole is just a replacement valve cover at $250 new, or less than half that used.

As for riding the GS on the track, why not? It is fun, and different. :deal

:nono Some valve covers are close to getting some character. Even when they get so much character that they no longer keep the oil inside it is not a $$$$ repair. More like a $ repair. Or a ยข repair if you don't mind some excessive character.
