This my 3rd year going to this event. I am on a big Strom and would not recommend doing the dirt ride. I've seen pictures and have heard the stories of the hero sections, and the seen the damage and shape some of the bikes come back in. I like riding dirt on the Vee. Last year my bike was down and had a KLR and wished I had my Vee last year, the roads were great last year. From the twisties to the dirt section in the middle of a field. Then they went to the quarry which I missed last year. I hope we do it this year I would be interested in seeing it.

    Is it the 29th yet?

I've put a good route together for this year, Its going to be alot of fun, with some mild dirt roads (kind of like last year). There also may be a short side excursion up in the Noxin (Ricketts Glen State Park) area,, with a long dirt section (about 15-20 miles). It depends on our progress at the mid point of the ride. All and all, I'm sure everyone will enjoy the tour.

I rode my 1200GS last year on the off road section. At lunch I had a hole in my oil filter and I tore off my skid plate. I decided to join the on road guys and gals after lunch. I got the best of both worlds. The on road was just as fun.
I rode some scouting with dave this year and I would never make it on the GS. Just fighting the weight of the bike will absolutely destroy any mortal. Dave warned me over and over last year that I should be with the on road group. I didn't listen and $400 later the bike was again ridable. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast destroying my bike. I know the route changed from last year, but some people splintered off the on road group to hit some dirt on the way home. You will not be disappointed.

Well fellas and ladies we are getting closer to the Rally. #4. We're doing pretty good so far. I think I will be closing the sign up sooner then expected. I am getting close to my cut off point. I don't want to have the area overwhelmed. If you want in I'd advise doing it now. I really want to keep it on the smaller side, 60 participants MAX.

SIGN UP NOW I WILL BE CLOSING THE SIGN UP SOONER THEN THE 20TH OF MAY.

If it's pouring out on Saturday I'm not going to go out. If it's a little overcast or drizzling I'm there. Yes 9 am at the Grove. Whoever wants to help and make sure the route is satisfactory.

Dave I'm in if you'll have me. While passing through Jim Thorpe last year one of you guys chased me down and asked me if I was looking for the Smoking Hole Rally. I was like :eek1 huh. Well that sounds interesting, must look into that. I ride a Honda Transalp. So the road biased ride for me. Payment already sent.
Looking forward to seeing you all. Paul
