After recently being thoroughly impressed with the riding skills of Arizona inmate fuggy, Johnny_5 came out to California for a ride.

I'm starting to notice an AZ trend. She also is a really good rider as demonstrated here.

She was riding the biggest bike of the group, a 690 with a full Safari tank!

This was Walley Whirld's first ride aboard his brand new 2011 Beta 450RS. :clap

Sorry about your head Wally...too much zoom.:doh

tbarstow was riding his highly modified 650 Beemer,

which was not without a slight problem....or two. But he never stopped smiling. :D

I was on my NOS '09 Beta 450...duh!

Johnny_5 liked her new Klim helmet so much, she wouldn't take it off.:raabia

Flats or no flats, it was a great day for a ride plus it gave us a chance to sample that new Beta.

Come to think of it, Megan had more than one test ride on the Beta.

Good thing Wally knows how to handle a 690. :nod

They switched back for the singletrack.

Tim rockin' the BMW on S-track.

    Wally loves the new scoot.

Then all of the sudden Tim's bike sheers a bar mount but he knew what to do.

    This made Wally sad:cry

We rode Tim back to the staging area but it was gonna cost him!....GAS :lol3

Newly gassed we told Tim we'd meet him at the saloon later, and hit the trail again to enjoy the remaining daylight.

Good ride gang. Thanks for including me. What else can I say but...

    Looks like a great day!

I'll be looking forward to seeing how that Beta does in "the Event".

This has to be #6. I did replace both of them this morning before we went riding again. As much as shearing one off sucks, I think breaking your bars (like Ben did) sucks more than riding with a tie strap holding your bars on. I'm contemplating getting some spacers made that will get rid of the rubber mounts and allow me to run a steering damper below the bars.

Something must be wierd on your set up....as you know you probably have the most sheared off handlebar bolts of all X owners. 13k miles for me and 0.....please please please don't jinx myself.

Ok, back to the report. Talk soon Tim.

Perhaps it is I who should apologize for riding so fast you couldn't capture all of me in the photo.

Yes, Wally loves his new scoot. It's a Beta 520 RS. A bit more umph than the 450. Lots of power everywhere, especially after removing the carb tube plug. Doh.

Johnny5 opted to take out my Trusty Husky TE 610 on Sunday after shearing a couple of subframe bolts on her KTM 690 on Saturday. Much fun was had by all. No photos allowed.

The Beta started coming into it's own on Sunday after a couple of post-ride adjustments. That Beta is one seriously fast bike that's super easy to ride. Me Likey. :clap

Here's some video I shot of our ride with Brent. It take us up through my tire change. I forgot to turn it on when we hit the hard stuff, not to mention that I was concentrating too much to worry about shooting video.

No sound, gotta find some new music to put with it.

Hello, I'm Megan and I'm a procrastinator :shog

The Beta's were definitely the center of attention this weekend, partially because they were the only trouble free bikes on Saturday :rofl
    </td></table>

    <table width=800><tr><td>
Before it's dirt baptism, Wally's new steed looked like this:</td><td>[IMG]</td></table>
    <table width=800><tr><td>[IMG]
</td><td>The mighty Jetta wasn't exactly designed to tow two 650 cc bikes... up hills we were moving pretty slow</td></table>
<table width=800><tr><td>We arrived at Riceless's abode in time to make some pre-ride adjustments to the new bike.</td><td>[IMG]</td></table>
<table width=800><tr><td>[IMG]</td><td>The man himself... He looks like the dirt bike version of "The most interesting man in the world". No Spanish accent though... pity!</td></table>
<table width=800><tr><td>We had two sets of twins on this ride. The Beta riders were sporting the 661 pressure suits, while Tim and I both were in Klim little boy blue get ups.</td><td>[IMG]</td></table>
<table width=800><tr><td>[IMG]</td><td>Tim picked up a drywall screw and had definite feelings on the situation. Actually he never stopped smiling, the happy git.</td></table>
<table width=800><tr><td>We all lended a hand... sometimes in the form of moral support. "I think that round thing is suppose to go over there"</td><td>[IMG]

<table width=800><tr><td>[IMG]</td><td>Why stand when you can sit? It is so much more relaxing watching someone else wield tire irons.</td></table>
<table width=800><tr><td>The most beautiful lady on this ride was this love Beta. I tried to get that guy out of the picture but he was kind of clingy with his new girl. </td><td>[IMG]
    </td></table>
<table width=800><tr><td>[IMG]</td><td>Fast forward to the handlebar break. Riceless looking at the BMW, "Why do you keep breaking!?!"</td></table>
<table width=800><tr><td>Tim was a little less thrilled this time. Note the tie down strap around the bars and triple clamp. The strap is camo so you might have a hard time picking it out.</td><td>[IMG]
    </td></table>
<table width=800><tr><td>Undocumented is my bike break. A weak point on the KTM690 are the bearing/bolts that mount the tank/subframe. I broke both of them which led to an interesting ride home. Thankfully Wally loaned me his Husky for the Sunday ride.

As for the Beta test ride, it was fun :evil Awesome power, always at the ready. Dial a wheely machine. Nice handling and suspension. Wally's going to have a gooooooooooood time on it at the REMIX.</td></tr></table>
