Johnson Valley (Means Dry Lake) should be good, and as well as Stoddard Valley. There's plenty of room for a motor home. Both places are wide open. I plan to be at JV tomorrow around noon doing mostly practice and training. The real ride is on Saturday at Stoddard.

    Have fun regardless.

Are there two noob rides or one? I'm alittle confused here.

    Thanks,

Don't worry about it, there will be plenty of folks out there and tons of room. Saturday is at Stoddard Wells and Friday is at Means Lake.

UPDATE: BossyRussianGirl may be replaced by NewlyWhipped/MarriedSon Saturday.

If I come out it will be to Stoddard Wells on Saturday. Still talking to the wife to she if she want's to tag along.

How long do you plan to spend at Stoddard Wells? We can stay till Monday morning.

The JV is noob's, screwing around on the lake bed, but the Stoddard could be different, and no way I will know unless someone already has a plan.

I rode thru there today about 3:00 and I had the elec. vest and grips on full! I would recommend snugglin' in the motor homes if you guys are camping. I'm wiped. 11 hour ride home from Kingman today. Oatman at Sunrise was COOL! ( the rest was just COLD!) Have fun tomorrow, I'll be sleeping.

Looks like we'll be heading out to Stoddard Wells tomorrow morning. Couldn't make Meanes Lake. I'll follow Ricks directions to the campsite. We plan to stay till Sunday night and then head home.

Rick, I'll be in a white Carson FunRunner being pulled by a white Chevy crew cab 4x4, should be a Suzuki DR350 sitting nearby. I'll look for your Ford Saturday morning.

I ran into h8chains at Means Dry Lake, on the way home from the Stoddard Wells ride. It was nice to meet him. The ride was fun. Thanks guys. Here are a few pics.

Ooops! I missed everyone, waited at the corner for 30 minutes and didn't see anyone.

So I went and follow the power lines but didn't go far enough.

But good to hear that you guys had a good ride.

I scouted the area for like half an hour and didn't see any interesting trails or riders. Worried that if I ride alone and get hurt, I toof off and went to Johnson Valley.

This sign says a lot! All kinds of caliber are represented.

The road to Means Dry Lake (Johnson Valley). The lake is a motorhome mecca!

The dry lake is wide open and flat, but the trails leading outside were sandy and plenty of woop dee woops. The lake bed is perfect for noobies who wants to learn and train, and very GS friendly :lol3 .

Who said it's a dry lake bed!

Another noobie mistake, following a tire track that it got so deep that my pegs got buried in the ground.

By your first photo we we're just five minutes away up powerline road :(.

Had a great time meeting everyone and letting me tag along for my first ds ride. Luckily I brought my gps and it allowed me to take my daughter on the same ride (except the hills) down to slash x for a burger.

SP, next time bring a bigger trailer so I can spot it from a mile away.

If you have chance, bring the family to Means Dry Lake, it's perfect for noobs and advance riders as well. The lake bed is hard pack dirt, mostly flat, rocks almost non-existence, and plenty of camping space.

The only minus is there's no bathroom facility. For someone digging a hole, there's just no available cover within a half a mile.
