I consider Lonesome part of Revere...
As it should be .
Cool! 209 - 63 - Hooker Gap - 251 are part of my normal routes too.
Not to soil your untarnished reputation, but these totally worked... especially after I learned to not hamfist the bike-side connectors trying to jimmy them through the old stalk hole. Applying a little forethought to disassembly at the bulb side revealed a much cleaner re-fit. Thanks for the link and recommendation.
wait... did you replace the front or the back?
I tried to do the front, but there's too much plastic in the way to get the nut off. So for now, the droopy eye is ziptied and has to wait till I take the tank off and rewire the gps
Right, rear side... I had to completely remove the bike rack, rear seat and rear cover plate; but got clean access after that debacle. On another note, anyone have ideas for how to remove a bound bolt that snapped off flush at the rear grab handle? Asking for a friend...
"my friend" has done that
oh, and did ya get your race schedule????
you got to squeeze the RDV in
Not yet... the race organizer's meeting is usually the 2nd or 3rd week in December, then they argue over who gets the prime weekends, then about 2-3 weeks later they begin trickling out dates for the next season.
RDV is on the short list of "shit-I-need-to-do-so-I-don't-go-completely-batshit-insane"
Weld a nut to it and fill the nut with weld. The heat may break loose the threads as it cools.
How about JB-Weld and a Bic lighter?
If that's not an option; I may have to try some D-I-Y Thermite...
I've never had much luck with JB-Weld.
and I am going to cheat on you again on Friday:
Black Friday Ride is on again.
Anybody in the need of getting away and hit some gravel and twisties, pm me for details
Black (Ice) Friday Ride!
so great to have the old "gang" back together - with the addition of a few new faces
@kennyanc 's firt two-up ride since his little big oops at the CDT
my little tigger fits me like a glove now - thanks to @NC Rick aka Cogent Dynamics and his suspension magic
@lgajohnymac got himself a KTM two weeks ago....
and here's why
that bike certainly can take a beating
Fish Hatchery of Toe River was closed
oh, and a shameless plug for the Rick's Eastern Rendezvous. We will be in Murphy, NC next year and the sign up starts this Friday...
That ice though...
yep, I led the ride and got pretty squirrly hitting it, pointed it out, the next one went around but by the time he pointed, Jonathan was already down. I hate that.
The KTM can take a beating and apparently so can Jonathan. Looks like a good time. Mostly.
I figured December is the perfect month to go camping - and I was right!
90 twisty miles south
baked apples for breakfast rock!
that bike is a ton of fun - since I am able to safely stop without falling over
I did manage to talk Andy into switching a bit... and took the DR over Beaverdam - damn I miss my DR
I would love to to blame somebody else for that, but I have to take fully responsibility for dropping my bike in the driveway - while parked
Looks like a fantastic weekend!
Nice photos,as always.
That looks like a great time, glad you could get out!
