Off course he'll let you in, after all you made the "approved list" - just watch out for burn barrels :lol3

As always...a brilliant time. Coming out of the tent this morning and finding burnt red rocketpieces and shotgun shells just outside the tent was just a subtle reminder of why I had such so hangover.:huh

Thanks so much to the Sherif and Silke for the hospitality! :freaky :clap

Thanks to all who were there for such amazing company and warm friendship! It was good to see all of you again, as well meet fun and friendly inmates! (special thanks to Craig for putting up with Joseph and myself all day!)

    Blessings all!

Three years ago, just when I switched from the Monster to the DR, a certain road taught me a lesson, so today my plan was to get back there...

on the way I bought a new Madison County map, since none of my other maps show this road. Stopped at Barnard to plan the route and... dang, on the new map it's clearly marked as a private road :cry. Well, I decided to just put around and take some pics as usual :lol3

    somebody needs some goats!

    Paw Paw

ignored the map and turned wherever I felt like it :D. Glad I stopped there to take a pic... almost lost my plate

turned out nicely (I've been on it before - just from the other side)

kept on going w/o a plan, till I realized where is was... time to pick up an apple and a hooker :norton
    [IMG]

yeah, it's "fresh" (especially inside) :lol3

all other road signs were taken :lol3

from there I went to the opening of the new BMW shop in AVL.. nice shop, nice unobtanium, and the only pic I took was of an old V50 :lol3 (couldn't help myself, I owned one like this a long long time ago)

at this point my back tire was shut and started to chop big time (the side knobs literally breaking off) ... so, change of plans and back home I went :cry - via a quick stop at the Wedge :1drink

Gonna put on a new tire tonight - anybody wanna get dirty tomorrow???

ventured outside of my normal stomping grounds today and picked up the East TN tag. Took me just a bit over 6 hours due to some exploring... :D

    Kudzu Hell on 197

Unaka Mt Road (I wanted to use this as the new tag, but the Beauty Spot was already tagged, and that's just a few miles down the road)

    Tag location
    [IMG]

and due to construction I found this little gem :evil - the guy in the gas station told me "you don't wanna go there" ... that's all I needed to hear :lol3

it's called White Oak Road: steep, rocky and washed out - fun both ways

    close to the new tag

sorry, my camera is metric :norton

    Great day!

now my hubby wants me to buy a SPOT, since I have a problem with taking directions :lol3 (he has a point though)

it's not what I wanted (unobtanium atm) but I am really impressed; and I am glad I didn't go for a 50/50 instead - came in really handy at my little excursion :augie

plus, I made some really good time on Walnut Creek and Big Laurel today.... :evil

since Carmen "left" I only got guys to ride with now :cry - but, oh well, I shouldn't complain :evil

however, some of them may be to tall for my bike :lol3

rode Hurricane Creek - sorry, no stops and no pics - and afterwards we lost Allen. Last time we've seen him was him taking off against the traffic on I40 :eek1 (he's fine - I got a text later on)

at some other road west of I40:

it was dry and all the creeks were very low, which made it very easy

Rush-hour on the Pigeon River - so much for tranquility on the water :huh

did I say it was dry? that was my view for most of the day :lol3

which resulted in this (thanks guys! :rofl)

    Lunch Break:

    Buck Branch (?)

    my "pig" all grown up

    somewhere at Martha Sundquist Forest

just when I got into the groove :norton, following the guys up a long and fun gravel road, my bike decided it's to old for this stuff and decided to take a nap

and that concludes the story :lol3

well, actually it was just one of the last of the pics I took; bikes fine and I am too. Just low-sided coming out of a turn - I blame my right hand :deal (I told it "be easy on the gas" :lol3)

Thanks a lot to Blinker152 for leading a fantastic ride!!!! :clap

if your boss tells you to reduce your comp time, what better thing is there to do than goof off, and stock up on some future file tags for NCTOR and the E-TN tag game :evil

    some of the non-tag shots

can anybody explain this building to me????

went to check out some trail-heads and campsites in the Shelton Laurel Backcounty

came by some "famous driveway" :lol3

explored some more gravel in this area, just to find out that I am lost... :lol3 (pics didn't come out right - bummer)

after about 5 hours I decided it's time to switch to 3 HP (hound power) and added another 5+ miles on the AT

    Flint Mt. Shelter :eek1

the day turned out quiet nicely :D - and in the meantime my hubby was very busy :pot
