Waldrup's store? Where is that, Sandy Mush?
yup - Waldrop's on Willow Creek (other side of Beaverdam Rd)
I've never done much riding in that part of the county. Just looking at G Maps it looks nice, but can't find Beaverdam Rd. on it. Maps takes me to the one in N Asheville.
Maybe it's time to go exploring.
Beaverdam goes north from Canton towards the store... nice twisties!
I was looking in the wrong county. duhhh.
your a Moran.
There's a Beaver Dam Rd here, in Watauga county, too. It turns into Bulldog Rd at the NC/TN state line. Nice road for bikes. If you like em' really twisty you can take George's Gap Rd to/from Beaver Dam.
Commuting can be fun!!!
Took the long way home over Big Laural (I spare you the pics - posted plenty of that area before) - all but one:
Somebodies had "escaped prisoners" as a parent:
I was almost home, when I remembered that Furtledurt mentioned new pavement on Flag Pond Road . So it turned left into TN instead of right
yup - new pavement!!! (on the right is the interstate)
it's just a few miles - of fun!
my old camera is really on it's way out (and the new one is broken too)
last sweeper on the TN side
yup - worth a little detour for sure!
and the food/canibalism pic: made some cuttles for dinner...
told ya my camera sucks
Great pic Silke...
Don't bother it sucks....
.......rubber off the rear tire. After riding it 3 times in the last 3 days I tell you it sucks, just to be sure I may ride it again tomorrow
I believe I rode that new pavement this past Saturday. To & from Hot Springs. Had a blast.
PFFOG, I'm right there with ya'. I'll be shopping for tires sooon.
glad you have a good time - and weather
and you should come to meet us at the Wedge afterward (lots of adv and vintage bikes every Wednesday)
oh - and a shameless plug for the Nottrally
Might be able to stop in there, heading to BRMC in Cruso for the next couple of nights. what time do things happen?
about 6:07ish till 9-10ish
Leaf Report: there are leaves!
Just a late afternoon stroll in the neighborhood... weather: overcast, 0% change of rain. Perfect!
near Sam's Gap
I26 retaining wall
lousy pic, but it shows how steep the road is. Great for coasting
wait, it wasn't supposed to rain :huh
a little bit earlier I talked to a local guy about all kinds of hiking trails and back-roads in the area. There is one trial I'd like to do, and apparently this road leads get me closest to the trail...
found the parking area - and a few more gravel roads. It's raining, I only have about 1.5 hours of daylight left and I have no idea where this road goes.
I love it!
don't ask me
well, off course it's a dead end road, still a few miles of pure beauty - worth the detour.
and that's the reason I started late:
pooch-time on the AT - still looking good at 13
and some shenanigans in the yard:
I was up on 276 and BRP around Pisgah Inn area.Ran into a few inmates.
was the BRP busy? I normally try to avoid it during leave season....
