    Maybe not with that particular bodywork--looks pretty modern--but back in the day, when roadracing was a component of the GNC title, H-D ran the iron KR on pavement as well as dirt.

    That looks to be the FRP 1960 8 gallon KRTT tank. Cylinders were iron, but heads were aluminium. The "waffle iron" was the ill-fated but beautiful ironhead XR750 for 1970 and 1971.

    I always thought it was interesting that the press of the time, writing about the proposed P86 street bike incarnation, always dissed it for its engine weight of 170 lbs. What does a SOHC 750 Honda motor weigh?

    I saw this old wannabe in the pits at both Daytona and the Ontario Motor Speedway in the 1970s. Dude was a total chick magnet. Movie-star looks, and movie-star temperament, too, from what I heard.
